Kerry Katona recently embarked on a luxurious getaway to Thailand with her daughter Heidi,

but the trip has been anything but easy for the former Atomic Kitten star.
The 44-year-old, who split from her longtime partner Ryan Mahoney last year,
admitted that her first holiday as a single woman has been an emotional rollercoaster.

Struggling with the Challenges of Solo Travel

Despite escaping the cold February weather in the UK, Kerry has found herself missing the comforts of home.

Speaking to OK! Magazine, she revealed, “While this holiday is fantastic, I’m really looking forward to going home. I love my home comforts, and I miss the other kids.
When I go away, I end up missing them so much – much more than they miss me! I’ve been FaceTiming DJ since I got here and staying in constant contact with all my kids.”
Navigating a Trip with a Teenager
Kerry also opened up about the difficulties of traveling with her teenage daughter, Heidi, who is turning 18 on February 20. The singer expressed that Heidi, whose father is Kerry’s ex-husband Mark Croft, has preferred to keep to herself rather than engage in mother-daughter activities. “As much as I love being away with Heidi, it is tough with teenagers. I’m missing having a partner to share this holiday with. Heidi doesn’t want to do any activities with me—she would rather stay in the hotel—and she’s a typical teenager where everything I say is wrong, so that’s not easy,” Kerry admitted.

Coping with Post-Breakup Emotions
Kerry has been candid about her struggles with anxiety and heartbreak following her split from Ryan Mahoney. She confessed that she recently broke down in tears due to an overwhelming sense of loneliness. “I found myself bursting into tears the other day because I became anxious and it built up,” she shared with The Mirror.
“Being away for the first time without Ryan is difficult. I’m OK on my own, but I like having that bond with someone,” she added.
Considering the Dating Scene Again

Before heading to Thailand, Kerry revealed that she had been contemplating dipping her toes back into the dating world. While she initially considered joining the elite Raya dating app, she ultimately decided to focus on self-care. “I have actually been trying to get on the Raya app to see what’s out there, but I’m not on it yet. I don’t think I’d like to do the other apps again,” she said.
Embracing Self-Love on Valentine’s Day
Spending her first Valentine’s Day as a single woman in years, Kerry took a humorous approach to her love life. Speaking to her 852K Instagram followers from her hotel pool, she jokingly declared, “Yes, I am in a relationship. It is extremely serious… how do I say this? It’s with myself. And I plan on staying single for a very, very, very, very, very, very long time.”

While the Thailand trip has had its ups and downs, Kerry’s honesty about her emotions and experiences continues to resonate with her fans. As she navigates this new chapter in her life, she remains focused on family, self-care, and finding happiness on her own terms.
