On Wednesday’s episode of Good Morning Britain, an unexpected moment unfolded 

as host Susanna Reid found herself being scolded live on air by none other than Elon Musk’s father, Errol Musk. 

The exchange, which occurred during an interview segment, took an awkward turn when Errol reacted strongly to one of Susanna’s questions.

A Tense Interview Moment

Susanna, 54, was co-hosting the show alongside Ed Balls when they welcomed Errol Musk, 79, as a guest. 

The conversation centered around his son, Elon Musk, the billionaire behind X (formerly Twitter), Tesla, and Starlink.

During the discussion, Susanna posed a question to Errol about Elon’s personality, asking:

“I’m very interested, Errol, firstly in your analysis of your own son, Elon. Is he a genius or completely bonkers?”

Errol, seemingly unimpressed by the question, immediately shot back:

“Of course, he’s a genius! That’s ridiculous, what a stupid question!”

Despite the sharp response, Susanna attempted to clarify her reasoning, explaining that many people have debated whether Elon’s innovative thinking borders on madness. She then shifted the conversation, asking Errol when he last spoke to his son.

Errol revealed that the last time he saw Elon was a few months ago at the launch of SpaceX’s Starship. He explained that he lives far away from Elon—approximately 10,000 miles apart—but confirmed that they maintain a good relationship.

“Very good, very, very good, as good as a father wants it to be,” he stated. “I’m just his father. I’m there to give him advice if he asks for it, that’s all.”

The incident comes shortly after Susanna returned to the show following an extended break. The presenter had taken a three-week hiatus from Good Morning Britain, leaving fans curious about her absence.

Back in early December, she informed viewers that she would be stepping away for a holiday break. However, as the weeks passed, speculation grew regarding when she would return to the morning program.

Susanna finally addressed her absence on Instagram, sharing a New Year’s message with her followers. She posted a picture of a flickering candle, writing:

“Happy New Year! See you on Monday.”

Along with her comeback, Susanna debuted a fresh new hairstyle. She revealed on social media that she had decided to grow out her hair again after previously opting for a shorter style in 2023.
