Maura Higgins has called time on her relationship with Pete Wicks after reportedly discovering messages between him and other women. 

The I’m A Celebrity star, 34, was left heartbroken after finding the messages on Pete’s phone, 

ultimately deciding that she could no longer trust him.

The pair had been together for months following a long-standing friendship, but tensions over trust appear to have led to their split. 

Despite her devastation, Maura has chosen to remain dignified, refusing to publicly criticize Pete following their breakup.

Maura’s Suspicion Led to Their Breakup

According to sources close to the couple, Maura had been harboring doubts about Pete’s faithfulness for some time. The Love Island alum reportedly became suspicious that Pete, 37, might not have been entirely honest about his interactions with other women.

An insider revealed to The Sun:

“Maura was suspicious of Pete and whether he might have been messing her around. There had been some arguments over trust.”

Her worst fears appeared to be confirmed when she found numerous messages on his phone. Although it remains unclear whether Pete had been unfaithful, Maura felt she could no longer continue the relationship.

“She felt she was proved right when she saw loads of messages with other women on his phone,” the source continued. “Even if they were innocent, she knew she’d never be able to fully trust him. She didn’t want to spend her time worrying about what her partner was doing.”

Valentine’s Day Drama and Maura’s Defiant Response

The breakup came to light on Valentine’s Day when Maura was seen leaving a restaurant alone. When questioned about Pete’s whereabouts, she delivered a sharp response that fueled speculation about their split.

“I don’t know, probably cheating,” she was filmed saying.

Following this, Maura sent herself a bouquet of red roses, with a note that read: “To Me, Love Me.” The gesture seemed to be a statement of self-love and resilience after the heartbreak.
