Blake Lively has filed new court documents in her ongoing legal battle against It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni,
claiming that two of their fellow cast members will testify on her behalf.
The amended complaint, recently submitted in court, alleges that Baldoni engaged in inappropriate behavior on set,
prompting concerns from multiple women involved in the production.
Protecting Witnesses Amidst Alleged Threats and Harassment
While Lively’s legal team confirmed that two actors from the film have agreed to testify, their names have not been disclosed.
The filing states that this decision was made to “protect innocent bystanders rather than exposing them to further harm” due to what it describes as a “dangerous climate of threats, harassment, and intimidation.”
Despite keeping their identities confidential, the amended complaint asserts that the two actors have granted “permission to share the substance of their communications” and have committed to providing testimony and supporting documents during the discovery phase of the legal proceedings.
Lively starred in It Ends With Us alongside several notable actors, including Jenny Slate and Isabela Ferrer. However, it remains unclear whether they are the individuals set to testify.
Allegations of On-Set Complaints Against Baldoni
According to the amended complaint, concerns about Baldoni’s behavior on set were first raised in May 2023. The legal filing states that at least one female cast member formally reported Baldoni’s alleged “unwelcome behavior” to a Sony executive and a producer—both of whom Lively had also spoken with regarding her own concerns.
The complaint further alleges that Baldoni acknowledged the concerns in writing, stating that he was aware of the issues and that “adjustments would be made.” This response allegedly came on June 1, 2023, just days after the complaint was initially raised. However, by June 8, 2023, the same female cast member allegedly approached Lively directly to discuss her concerns.
Further Allegations of a Hostile Work Environment
The amended complaint also includes claims that another female cast member confided in Lively about feeling uncomfortable on set. These discussions reportedly took place nearly a year before the film’s post-production process began, reinforcing allegations that concerns about Baldoni’s behavior were present long before the movie’s release.
“Later, another female cast member confided to Ms. Lively that she too felt uncomfortable on set,” the legal filing states. “All of this occurred, and was documented in writing, almost one year before the editing of the film began.”
Cyberbullying Concerns After the Film’s Release
In addition to raising concerns about Baldoni’s alleged conduct during filming, the complaint also details instances of cyberbullying faced by cast members after the movie’s release. The court documents reveal that on August 14, 2024, shortly after It Ends With Us premiered in theaters, a female cast member reached out to Lively seeking help in addressing online harassment.
According to the filing, the cast member asked Lively if Sony could intervene as the cyberbullying she was experiencing was becoming “nastier and more difficult to cope with by the day.”
Baldoni’s Response and Ongoing Legal Battle
Baldoni, who not only starred in but also directed It Ends With Us, has denied all allegations made against him by Lively. His legal team has argued that the accusations are part of a deliberate attempt to harm his reputation and that Lively’s claims lack substantial evidence.
In response to the lawsuit, Baldoni has filed his own legal action against Lively, accusing her of defamation and civil extortion. His legal team contends that Lively’s accusations were fabricated to repair her own image following controversy surrounding the film’s production and promotional campaign.
What’s Next?
The legal battle between Lively and Baldoni is set to continue, with new developments emerging as the case heads toward trial, which is scheduled for 2026. The testimony of the two unnamed It Ends With Us cast members could be a decisive factor in determining the outcome of Lively’s lawsuit against Baldoni.
As the case unfolds, both sides remain firmly entrenched in their positions, with Lively emphasizing the importance of protecting witnesses from further harm and Baldoni maintaining his innocence. The entertainment industry and fans alike will be watching closely as this high-profile legal fight plays out in court.
