Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager Send Heartfelt Messages to Sheinelle Jones Amid Her Time Away from Today
Sheinelle Jones, a beloved co-anchor on The Today Show, has been noticeably absent in recent weeks, prompting concern from fans.
The television personality recently shared that she is taking time off to focus on a “family health matter,”
and her Today colleagues, including Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager, have shown an outpouring of support.
Today Family Rallies Around Sheinelle
Hoda and Jenna, two of Sheinelle’s closest friends on the Today team, took to social media to send her their love.
“We love you ….. you are being held….. you are family,” Hoda commented on Sheinelle’s Instagram post.
Jenna also left an encouraging message, writing, “You are a queen and are LOVED beyond measure! Wrapping our arms around you, always.”
Sheinelle, 45, first addressed her absence in an emotional Instagram message, expressing gratitude for the love and kindness she has received from both her Today family and fans.
“I sincerely appreciate all of you who have reached out while I’ve been absent from the show,” she wrote. “I want to share with you that I’m taking time to deal with a family health matter. It’s not lost on me how lucky I am to have not only the support of my Today Show family but also all of you. Your kindness means so much.”
Colleagues and Fans Show Their Support
Savannah Guthrie, another longtime friend and co-anchor, also expressed how much Sheinelle is missed, commenting, “We love you so. Not the same without you. We will see you soon.”
Dylan Dreyer, Carson Daly, and ABC’s Deborah Roberts joined in, sending their well wishes.
Viewers had been wondering about Sheinelle’s whereabouts, especially after she was notably absent on January 10—Hoda Kotb’s last day on the show. On January 15, Savannah addressed Sheinelle’s absence on-air, reassuring fans that she was doing well but needed to take some personal time.
“We know so many of you have been asking about Sheinelle and missing her, and we miss her too,” Savannah shared. “She posted to Instagram this morning, letting everyone know she has been taking some time off to deal with a personal family health matter. She thanked everyone for their kindness and concern.”
A Devoted Mom and Journalist
Beyond her role on Today, Sheinelle is a dedicated wife and mother. She and her husband, Uche Ojeh, have been together since their college years and tied the knot in 2007. The couple shares three children: Kayin, 15, and twins Clara and Uche Jr., 12.
As she takes this time to focus on her family, her Today co-anchors and fans continue to offer love and support. While there is no official word on when she will return, one thing is certain—she is deeply missed, and her Today family will be waiting with open arms when she is ready to come back.
