TV chef Gino D’Acampo has publicly called on ITV to reach out to him following new allegations of inappropriate behavior on the sets of his television shows. 

The This Morning regular, who has been at the center of controversy in recent weeks, expressed deep concern over the impact these claims are having on his family.

D’Acampo, who shares three children with his wife Jessica, has vowed to fully cooperate with any investigation but insists he was unaware of the allegations until recently. 

The 48-year-old denies all accusations and has described them as “deeply upsetting.”

Fresh Allegations Surface Against the Celebrity Chef

Earlier this month, ITV News reported that multiple former staff members and freelancers had come forward with claims against D’Acampo, 

alleging that his behavior over a 12-year period was “unacceptable,” “distressing,” and “horrendous.” The allegations have resulted in ITV pulling several of D’Acampo’s shows from its schedule, including Family Fortunes and Gino’s Italy: Secrets of the South.

Over the weekend, new accusations emerged, with a former producer claiming that D’Acampo had drawn an inappropriate image of her during the filming of Saturday Cooks! She recounted the incident, stating that while she initially believed he was creating a harmless caricature, she felt “shocked and humiliated” when he revealed the drawing.

Additionally, D’Acampo has been accused of making crude remarks about Great British Bake Off judge Mary Berry. However, his representatives swiftly responded, asserting that he holds “the utmost respect” for Berry and dismissing the claims as untrue.

Gino D’Acampo Responds to the Allegations

D’Acampo’s team issued a statement on his behalf, revealing that he was first made aware of these allegations on February 22, when The Sun on Sunday contacted him. The statement clarified that the claims date back 17 years and that no specific details—such as names, dates, or context—have been provided.

“None of these allegations have ever been brought to his attention previously, he does not recollect them and does not recognize the allegations or the behavior which is attributed to him. He denies these allegations,” the statement read.

The complaints were reportedly filed to ITV in December 2024, with allegations stemming from incidents that allegedly took place between 2007 and 2008.

D’Acampo emphasized his willingness to cooperate with ITV, saying, “If ITV has received a complaint, I urge them to contact me directly. I am deeply worried about the immense and escalating distress that these allegations are having on my family.”

ITV Responds to the Controversy

In response to D’Acampo’s public plea, ITV released a statement reaffirming its commitment to maintaining a respectful workplace environment. The network stated that it has strengthened its policies in recent years, particularly with the launch of a dedicated Complaints Handling Unit in 2024.

“The standards of behavior that ITV expects are very clear. Everyone working with ITV is subject to ITV’s Code of Ethics and Conduct,” ITV stated.

The broadcaster also reiterated its stance against inappropriate behavior, confirming that it is taking the allegations seriously and will conduct a thorough investigation.

ITV Pulls Gino D’Acampo’s Shows from Its Schedule

As the controversy continues, ITV has decided to remove several of D’Acampo’s past and present shows from its programming. Repeats of Family Fortunes and Gino’s Italy: Secrets of the South have been taken off the air.

Instead, Abbey Clancy: Celebrity Homes will replace Secrets of the South on ITVBe, while Wheel of Fortune, hosted by Graham Norton, will fill the slot previously occupied by Family Fortunes.

Industry Leaders Call for Change

The growing allegations against D’Acampo have drawn concern from industry leaders, including the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and Bectu, the union representing creative industry workers.

Philippa Childs, head of Bectu, stated that the claims are “very serious, as is the significant time period they span.” She also expressed concern that production companies may have been aware of complaints but continued working with D’Acampo regardless.

“It’s imperative that ITV investigates this matter thoroughly,” Childs urged, emphasizing the need for greater accountability in the television industry.

She further called for a “radical step-change” to ensure that those affected feel safe coming forward without fear of professional repercussions.

D’Acampo’s Legal Team Strongly Denies the Accusations

D’Acampo’s legal representatives have firmly denied the allegations, calling them “a fabricated work of fiction.” In a statement provided to ITV News, the chef declared, “I have never been made aware of these matters previously, and the allegations are firmly denied. This is simply not in my nature.”

He also stressed that, throughout his career, he has worked with more than 1,500 people on approximately 80 productions without any prior complaints.

“I am a father, husband, and have always taken such matters extremely seriously. The suggestion that I have acted in an improper way is deeply upsetting,” he added.

The Future of Gino D’Acampo’s Career

While ITV has yet to confirm the full extent of its investigation, D’Acampo’s career remains uncertain. His long-standing association with This Morning and various ITV productions has made him a household name, but the allegations threaten to tarnish his legacy.

Several production companies, including MultiStory Media and Studio Ramsay, have stated that they are reviewing past concerns and will look into any new allegations that arise.
