Megyn Kelly Mocks Joy Reid’s Exit

Kelly has previously criticized Reid for her on-air remarks, but she took things a step further following reports that MSNBC had decided to part ways with the longtime host. In a pointed social media post, Kelly referenced Reid’s past criticisms of “white women tears” and sarcastically flipped the narrative.

“Remember when Joy Reid laughingly mocked ‘white women tears’ as pathetic and offensive to her? Who’s crying now, Joy? Good riddance to the absolute worst person on television, and shame on NBC for letting it go on this long,” Kelly wrote on X.

Kelly continued her attack by sharing a video of Reid becoming emotional in an interview after her final MSNBC broadcast. She once again accused Reid of lacking empathy and dismissed any sympathy for her departure.

“Joy Reid has viciously mocked the tears of every white person she’s helped cancel over the years for some imaginary racial slight,” Kelly claimed. “She’s had zero empathy for anyone. Now she wants us to feel sorry for her. WE DON’T.”

Don Lemon Fires Back at Kelly

Kelly’s remarks did not go unnoticed, with former CNN anchor Don Lemon jumping into the fray. On his YouTube show, Lemon delivered a fiery response, defending Reid while launching his own attack on Kelly.

“No, Megyn Kelly, the worst person on television was fired from NBC and the Today show a few years ago, and that’s Megyn Kelly,” Lemon declared. “The worst person who is not on television anymore is you.”

Lemon was referring to Kelly’s high-profile firing from NBC in 2018 after she controversially defended the use of blackface in Halloween costumes. Her comments at the time sparked widespread backlash and ultimately led to her departure from the network.

Lemon didn’t hold back, mocking Kelly for her own past controversies and accusing her of hypocrisy.

“Girl, bye… Look who’s crying now, what she said to Joy Reid, look who’s crying then with the crocodile tears,” Lemon said. “Had she learned from that, she wouldn’t spend almost every day being a racist, proving the point that she was crying about and that people called her then, because then I would say, ‘You know what, she learned!’”

He also made it clear that he had once been friendly with Kelly but had since changed his opinion of her.

“I was actually friendly with Megyn Kelly, and then when people show you who they are, you better f**ing believe it,”* Lemon added.

The former CNN host ended his rant with an explicit message directed at Kelly:

“So let me just say to Megyn Kelly, in my 30-some years as a journalist and my 50-some years as a person of color: Go f** yourself!”*

Keith Olbermann and Meghan McCain Join the Debate

Lemon wasn’t the only media personality to blast Kelly for her comments. Former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann also took to X to back Lemon’s sentiments.

“Megyn Kelly? Go f** yourself,”* Olbermann posted, signaling his support for Reid and his disdain for Kelly’s remarks.

Meanwhile, conservative commentator Meghan McCain, a former co-host on The View, also weighed in—though she sided with Kelly in celebrating Reid’s exit.

“The idea that she has ever been anything other than hateful and horrible is just garbage. Good riddance,” McCain wrote on X, making it clear she was not mourning Reid’s departure.
