Justin Baldoni is ‘surprised’ Blake Lively wants ‘privacy’ during lawsuitc

The ongoing legal dispute between It Ends With Us co-stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni has taken another contentious turn,

with Baldoni questioning Lively’s recent push for heightened privacy measures in the lawsuit.

Lively’s legal team argues that the case, which involves high-profile individuals and allegations of sexual harassment,

requires additional protections due to concerns over public exposure, threats, and potential witness intimidation.

However, Baldoni’s legal team has expressed skepticism over this request, citing Lively’s own public handling of the accusations.

Baldoni Responds to Lively’s Privacy Proposal

In a formal letter to Judge Lewis J. Liman, Lively’s attorneys emphasized the need for increased confidentiality, stating that the widespread publicity surrounding the case has led to serious concerns for those involved. They asserted that public access to certain details could create safety risks and impact witness participation.

“Given how actively the Lively Parties have publicized and litigated Ms. Lively’s claims in the media, we are surprised to now learn how vehemently she wants to prevent the public from accessing material and relevant evidence,” Baldoni’s legal team wrote in response.

His attorneys pointed out that Lively had already disclosed specific allegations in her amended complaint, making her request for additional privacy protections questionable. “Ms. Lively has already publicized the alleged details of the so-called ‘harassment’ in her Amended Complaint,” they wrote, arguing that she lacks a “good faith” belief that the information she seeks to protect is truly of a sensitive nature.

The back-and-forth comes as Lively maintains her stance that Baldoni engaged in inappropriate behavior during the filming of It Ends With Us, a claim he has denied. As the legal battle intensifies, both sides are fighting over how much information should be made available to the public.

Lively’s Team Pushes Back Against Baldoni’s Claims

In response to Baldoni’s objections, Lively’s lawyers have hit back, asserting that misinformation and public attacks against their client justify the need for stronger privacy protections.

“Certain online content creators who frequently parrot the Wayfarer Parties’ line … have used similar misleading accusations,” Lively’s team stated, referencing Wayfarer Studios, the production company co-founded by Baldoni.

They further argued that false narratives have been amplified through social media and various media outlets, which could distort the case’s proceedings. “The travels of the mischaracterization embraced by the Opposition through this manufactured echo chamber, by itself, provides ample justification for a Protective Order that establishes adequate protections for third-party privacy interests,” they added.

The legal battle between Lively and Baldoni has already sparked widespread public debate, with supporters on both sides dissecting every new development. While Lively contends that Baldoni’s actions during a dance scene were inappropriate and unsolicited, Baldoni has maintained his innocence, even releasing unedited footage to dispute the claims.

What’s Next in the Legal Dispute?

As the case moves forward, the court will have to decide whether Lively’s request for enhanced privacy measures is warranted or if Baldoni’s team successfully argues that the information should remain publicly accessible. The request for a protective order suggests that Lively’s team is concerned about the potential impact of further public scrutiny, but Baldoni’s attorneys see it as an attempt to control the narrative after previously making details public.

With both sides standing firm, this high-profile case continues to be closely watched, and future rulings will determine how much of the lawsuit remains in the public eye.
