The 56-year-old singer, who has undergone an astonishing 16 surgeries as part of her journey,

“When I got it the second time, I decided to do the mastectomy,” she shared on the show. “That means it’s all gone. I made a very, very hard choice early, and the minute the surgery was complete, I never worried about it again.”

However, her journey did not end there. Anastacia revealed that she endured 15 additional surgeries following the mastectomy to complete her treatment and recovery process. Despite the challenges, she maintained a positive outlook, shrugging off the hardships by saying, “Who cares?”

“This is literally my headspace,” she said. “Let’s get a breast reduction. My friends were like, ‘Everybody is getting them bigger… you’re getting them smaller.’”

But in an unexpected twist of fate, the procedure led to the discovery of calcifications—an early sign of breast cancer. Because it was caught early, Anastacia was able to avoid chemotherapy, though the diagnosis was still a life-changing moment for her.

“When I found out, I was young enough that I couldn’t take Tamoxifen,” she explained, referring to the medication often prescribed for hormone-positive breast cancer patients. “It was like a perfect storm.”

Ten years later, almost to the exact month of her first diagnosis, cancer returned. But this time, Anastacia had already decided what she would do if faced with the disease again: undergo a double mastectomy.

The singer’s determination to overcome cancer was evident in her inspiring words. “I know that’s a hard road to go down for a woman,” she admitted, acknowledging the emotional and physical toll of a mastectomy. “I just wanted to win with cancer, and I won.”
