For Cardi B’s 5th Met Gala, she turned up in a Windowsen look before hopping from the Met Museum down to Silencio, the new 57th Street club designed by Crosby Street’s Harry Nuriev.
This year, Cardi opted for one beautiful avant-garde look, but let’s not forget her three outfit changes from last year’s event.
Cardi’s no stranger to the Met Gala after-party circuit, in 2022, she hosted a rocking party at The Boom Boom Room where she sang Donatella Versace “Happy Birthday.”
While the Met Gala theme this year was “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” it didn’t seem like anyone was getting much sleep last night.
Also hosted by Revolve and FWRD, the party started at 11 p.m. Party-goers were served light bites such as sliders and fries on the dance floor.
Cardi joined the party around 2 a.m. wearing a custom red Revolve Atelier look. Guests attending included Offset, Coco Rocha and Chris Appleton. See below for a roundup of photos from the party.
Cardi B knows a thing or two about “Drip.”
The Grammy-winning MC stepped out at the 2024 Met Gala on Monday, May 6, dripped out in the largest dress we’ve ever seen at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
She was serving total Ursula from The Little Mermaid vibes in her voluminous black dress that surrounded her on the carpet. She also rocked a matching beehive-style headpiece to add height to her look and the most luscious green jewels to match the greenery of the carpet’s backdrop.
Her appearance at the event, which featured the dress code “The Garden of Time,” marks her fifth showing at fashion’s biggest night.
Cardi’s last appearance at the Met Gala came in 2023 — when the “Bodak Yellow” rapper wore an impressive four outfits for her fourth outing at the event and its afterparty.
Ahead of the Met Gala last year, Cardi left her hotel in a bejeweled pink dress with a tulle headpiece. After that, she was seen in a silver wig and a chunky black headband, which she called her way of “representing the house of Chanel and Karl at the same time,” as the event’s dress code was “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.”
While Cardi wore several looks to her 2023 Met Gala appearance, she revealed in a 360 with Speedy interview earlier this year that she was “afraid” of negative feedback throughout 2023.
“I just feel like I lost myself with everything, you know, like, a lot of music commenters and everything and a lot of people just be like, you know, ‘She’s afraid to drop an album, she’s afraid to drop music,’” said Cardi. “Last year, I barely dropped music. It’s just like I was just afraid to do everything.”
As Cardi explained, she was “afraid to go live, I was afraid to post a picture, I was afraid to go to the club, and then the next day seeing people, what they going to say about me, and everything.”
The musician has since released two new singles, including track “Puntería” with Shakira, which she called a “dream.”
