Katie Price, 46, opens up about suffering ‘devastating’ miscarriage after unexpectedly falling pregnant with JJ Slater, 31 – but insists she would love to have a sixth child

Katie Price recently opened up about the heartbreak of experiencing a miscarriage after unexpectedly becoming pregnant with her boyfriend, JJ Slater.

Despite the devastating loss, the television personality remains determined to have a sixth child and is committed to continuing her journey with IVF.

At 46, Katie was shocked to discover she was pregnant, especially since she had previously been informed

that she was perimenopausal and had only a one percent chance of conceiving naturally. She first suspected she was expecting after missing her period on Boxing Day.

However, her joy was short-lived as she learned earlier this month that she had tragically lost the baby.

Reflecting on the heartbreaking experience, Katie shared that she and JJ had undergone tests and a scan,

which confirmed that while there was a pregnancy, the baby was no longer viable. She described the moment as devastating, filled with sadness and confusion, as she and JJ had gone from feeling overjoyed and relieved to heartbroken.

Despite this setback, Katie remains steadfast in her desire to expand her family. She has vowed to continue with IVF treatments until she is medically unable to proceed. She has been open about her struggles with fertility, having suffered multiple miscarriages in the past, as well as a life-threatening ectopic pregnancy.

Her partnership with the pregnancy and miscarriage charity Tommy’s highlights her commitment to raising awareness and supporting other women who have experienced similar losses. According to a source, both Katie and JJ are devastated, having navigated a rollercoaster of emotions from hope to despair over the past few weeks.

Katie is already a mother to five children. She shares her eldest son, Harvey, 22, with former footballer Dwight Yorke, and has son Junior, 19, and daughter Princess, 16, with ex-husband Peter Andre. Additionally, she has two younger children, Jett, 10, and Bunny, nine, from her previous marriage to Kieran Hayler.

Over the years, Katie has been candid about her fertility concerns. She previously revealed that she suspected she was going through menopause, particularly after noticing changes in her sleeping patterns and experiencing night sweats. She had consulted medical professionals to assess her reproductive health and determine her options for having another child.

In her Channel 4 documentary, Making Babies, which followed her IVF journey with former fiancé Carl Woods, Katie received the news that her ovarian reserve was low and that she had very few viable eggs left. A fertility specialist informed her that she had less than a one percent chance of conceiving using her own eggs, as her body was already showing signs of menopause.

During the emotional documentary, Katie expressed fears that Carl would leave her due to her fertility struggles. She worried that he would prefer to start a family with someone younger who could conceive naturally. Despite her concerns, she remained determined to pursue IVF and underwent an egg retrieval procedure, which resulted in the collection of two eggs. However, the couple later ended their relationship, and the IVF attempt was ultimately unsuccessful.

Despite these challenges, Katie has not given up hope. She has made it clear that she will persist with IVF in her pursuit of another child. Her determination and openness about her journey have resonated with many women who have faced similar struggles, and her involvement with Tommy’s aims to offer support and awareness to those dealing with pregnancy loss.

While Katie and JJ are still grieving their recent loss, she remains optimistic about the future. With her unwavering determination, she is committed to exploring every possible avenue to achieve her dream of expanding her family.

For now, Katie is focusing on her recovery, raising awareness about pregnancy loss, and preparing for the next steps in her fertility journey. Her resilience and openness serve as a source of inspiration for others who have faced similar heartbreak, proving that hope and perseverance can lead to new beginnings.
