Strictly finalist breaks silence on OnlyFans return after daytime TV jobs ‘ran dry’ – as he claims he is living ‘this one shot at life to the fullest’

John Whaite, former Great British Bake Off winner and Strictly Come Dancing finalist,

has opened up about his decision to return to OnlyFans, revealing that his time in daytime television has come to an end.

In a candid social media post, Whaite, 35, shared a shirtless photo with his 297,000 followers,

accompanied by a lengthy caption where he explained his motivations behind his career shift.

The British baker, who won the third season of Great British Bake Off in 2012,

took to Instagram to address the growing curiosity surrounding his return to the X-rated subscription site.

Whaite had previously been on OnlyFans but left after a short stint. However, he now sees his involvement with the platform in a new light, revealing that he views it as a business venture rather than merely an indulgence.

In his post, Whaite shared that many of his followers had sent him direct messages questioning why he was rejoining OnlyFans, especially after his past regrets. He explained, “Firstly, I think it’s important to remember that who we are, or at least little parts of us, can change.” This acknowledgment of change was central to his reasoning. He emphasized that he does not want to live his life within rigid confines, preferring to evolve and adapt, especially as he enters a new phase of his career.

Whaite went on to admit that his twelve-year-long career in television, which included notable roles in daytime TV shows like Steph’s Packed Lunch, had lost its spark. “It didn’t set me alight anymore,” he wrote, revealing that he had quit the TV industry 18 months ago and has not looked back since. Despite his success in TV, he felt the need for change and now finds fulfillment in other areas, including his growing business ventures.

One of Whaite’s most significant new endeavors is his OnlyFans account, where he now shares content under the name ‘Jonny Boy.’ His return to the platform is viewed by many as a bold move, but he is quick to frame it as a business decision rather than a personal indulgence. “I’m treating my OF career as precisely that—business,” Whaite explained. “It cycles money into the economy, it puts food on my table, it gives some people a little bit of cheeky joy—it’s a service.” His entrepreneurial approach reflects his broader ambitions beyond just social media fame.

Whaite also expressed pride in his other ventures, such as his bakery business, Ruff Puff Brownies. He noted that running a successful business had taught him valuable lessons in creativity, marketing, and managing financial overheads. For him, his OnlyFans presence is now tied to a sense of self-expression and performance. “I enjoy being a show-off,” he admitted, adding that he relishes the opportunity to build and celebrate his body.

While Whaite’s decision to return to OnlyFans has sparked debate among his followers, the support from his fans and peers has been strong. Music icon Michelle Visage shared her approval, echoing Whaite’s message of self-expression with the words, “You do you, baby.” Many fans praised his honesty and courage in embracing change, while others, particularly those from the more traditional TV-viewing demographic, expressed concerns over his public display of sensuality. Whaite was quick to respond to criticism, stating, “If it’s not for you, simply pass it by.”

In addition to his new business ventures, Whaite remains deeply committed to his relationship with his husband, Paul Atkins, with whom he celebrated their first wedding anniversary recently. The couple’s love story gained significant attention when Whaite participated in Strictly Come Dancing in 2021, where he became part of the first all-male partnership with professional dancer Johannes Radebe. Despite a whirlwind romance on the show, Whaite’s marriage to Atkins remains strong, with the couple navigating the challenges of fame together.

John Whaite’s decision to rejoin OnlyFans signals a new chapter in his career. His openness about his transition from daytime TV to a more unconventional path highlights the complexities of personal evolution and professional reinvention. While his move has divided opinions, one thing is clear: Whaite is determined to live life on his own terms, embracing the freedom to explore new opportunities without looking back.
