Susanna Reid confirms split from her partner Steve Parish on Good Morning Britain

Television presenter Susanna Reid has spoken openly about her recent split from Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish,

reassuring Good Morning Britain viewers that she is not dwelling on the breakup. The pair had been together for nine months before deciding to part ways and remain friends.

The news of their split surfaced after Reid was spotted at a Crystal Palace match on Saturday, sparking speculation about her relationship status.

Reports suggest that despite their strong connection, the couple struggled to find enough time for each other due to their demanding professional lives.

During Monday’s broadcast of Good Morning Britain, Reid’s co-host Piers Morgan addressed the rumors head-on.

“Are you single again? You are, aren’t you?” Morgan asked bluntly. Without hesitation, Reid confirmed the news, saying, “Yep. Let’s not dwell.

I’m fine, we’re fine, we’re very good friends. We were at the match on Saturday.”

Reid did not elaborate on the details of the breakup, but an insider reportedly revealed that their busy schedules were the primary reason for their decision to separate. “It’s very sad, but they just couldn’t make it work. They both work extremely hard, and there wasn’t enough time for romance,” the source explained.

Reid, who has three sons from her previous 16-year relationship with sports journalist Dominic Cotton, had previously expressed happiness in her relationship with Parish. Back in January, she spoke briefly about their romance on Good Morning Britain, saying, “It’s not a secret, but it’s private. But I’m happy. Very happy. I’m having fun… I am very, very happy at the moment, but I don’t want to be married.”

This statement was consistent with her long-held stance on marriage. Over the years, Reid has been vocal about her decision not to tie the knot, emphasizing that it has never been a priority for her. “I’ve never wanted [marriage]. I’ve never fantasized about the big day. It was never my ambition to be married,” she previously stated. Despite her reluctance to walk down the aisle, Reid’s relationship with Parish appeared strong while it lasted.

Despite the recent breakup, Reid showed no signs of distress on Monday’s episode of Good Morning Britain. She appeared upbeat and professional as she presented the morning’s headlines alongside her co-hosts. Later, she took to social media to share a picture of her elegant pink dress from Phase Eight and her stylish Aldo shoes, proving that she remains in high spirits.

This is not the first time Reid and Parish’s relationship has been under public scrutiny. When they first went public in November 2018, they were spotted together at a Crystal Palace vs. Chelsea match, fueling speculation about their romance. In April 2019, after nine months together, their split became public knowledge, with Reid choosing not to divulge too many details about their decision.

Even after the breakup, the pair have remained amicable, with Reid attending Crystal Palace games and maintaining a friendly connection with Parish. Their mutual respect and understanding seem to have made the transition from romantic partners to friends relatively smooth.

Meanwhile, Piers Morgan didn’t miss an opportunity to inject some humor into the situation. During the GMB broadcast, he jokingly brought up their split, teasing that he was more disappointed about losing access to Parish’s wine cellar than the breakup itself. Reid responded playfully, presenting him with three bottles of Crystal Palace wine to commemorate a recent victory against Arsenal.

While the romance between Reid and Parish has come to an end, it is clear that the two remain on good terms. Reid’s positive attitude and refusal to dwell on the past demonstrate her resilience and ability to handle personal matters with grace. For now, she seems focused on her career and family, moving forward with her usual charm and professionalism.

As one of the most beloved figures on British television, Reid’s personal life has always been of interest to viewers. However, she continues to navigate public attention with poise, ensuring that her professional commitments remain her priority. Fans of the presenter can rest assured that she is doing just fine, embracing the next chapter of her life with optimism and confidence.
