Dwayne Wade Just Got an Exciting New Gig on the TODAY Show

The excitement is building for fans of TODAY with Jenna & Friends,

as NBA Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade is set to join Jenna Bush Hager for a full week of co-hosting starting March 10.

The announcement was made in a fun and engaging Instagram post on March 6, featuring a playful text message thread that revealed the thrilling news.

Wade, one of the greatest basketball players of all time, will be lending his expertise, charm, and humor to the show for five days, much to the delight of viewers.

In the Instagram post, the caption read, “We’re beyond excited to have @dwyanewade joining us for a wholeeee week starting Monday, March 10! #JennaandFriends.”

Fans were quick to express their enthusiasm, knowing that this collaboration is sure to bring an exciting dynamic to the show.

Jenna’s guest roster has already included big names such as Scarlett Johansson, Keke Palmer, and Mikey Day, and now, with Wade joining the mix, the show is set to make even more waves.

Dwyane Wade is a basketball legend whose accolades are nothing short of impressive. Over the course of his 17-year career, Wade became a 13-time NBA All-Star and averaged an impressive 22 points per game. His legacy is solidified with three NBA Championships, all won with the Miami Heat, and an Olympic gold medal from his participation in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Wade’s accomplishments were further recognized when he was named to the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team in 2021, an honor that celebrates the 75 best players in league history.

In 2023, Wade received one of the highest honors in basketball, being inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. This induction cemented his place as one of the greatest players to ever take the court, solidifying his status in the history of the sport. With such a distinguished career, it’s safe to say that Jenna might want to steer clear of challenging Wade to a game of one-on-one.

While Wade is known for his incredible talent on the basketball court, his off-court life is equally inspiring. Wade is married to actress Gabrielle Union, and the couple has built a beautiful family together. The pair tied the knot in 2014, and in 2018, they welcomed their daughter, Kaavia James Union Wade, into the world. Their relationship began in 2007 when they met at a Super Bowl party they both co-hosted. Union has joked in interviews about their first encounter, saying that while she was out enjoying the party, Wade was on the other side of the room “holding Bible study.”

Their bond has only grown stronger over the years, and the couple has shown their commitment to family by co-authoring a children’s book, which highlights the beauty of blended families. Union, who never expected to have children, has spoken openly about how her love for her children inspired the creation of the book, describing it as a “love letter to every non-traditional family.” It celebrates the idea that no matter how a family is formed, it is beautiful and meaningful.

In addition to Kaavia, Wade has three children from previous relationships: Zaire Blessing Dwyane Wade, Zaya Wade, and Xavier Zechariah Wade. The Wade family’s openness about their journey, including their support of Zaya Wade, Dwyane’s transgender daughter, has garnered admiration for their advocacy and commitment to love and acceptance.

As Dwyane Wade prepares to join Jenna Bush Hager on TODAY with Jenna & Friends, viewers can look forward to a week of insightful conversations, fun moments, and plenty of laughs. Wade’s extensive sports background, coupled with his engaging personality, will surely add an exciting new dimension to the show. Fans are eagerly anticipating the dynamic chemistry between Jenna and Dwyane, and there’s no doubt that this week will be one for the books.

With such a star-studded guest like Wade, TODAY with Jenna & Friends continues to deliver the best in daytime television. Whether discussing sports, family life, or the latest headlines, this upcoming week promises to be one that viewers won’t want to miss!
