John Goodman, 72, injured while filming new movie with Tom Cruise, production delayed

Veteran actor John Goodman suffered an injury while working on his latest film, causing a brief delay in production.

The 72-year-old star, best known for his roles in Roseanne and The Big Lebowski,

reportedly injured his hip at Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom, where the untitled film is currently in production.

Injury and Recovery

According to reports, Goodman was not filming a scene when the incident occurred, but he did require immediate medical attention.

While details about the severity of the injury remain unclear, sources indicated that the injury was unrelated to a stunt.

Some reports have suggested that Goodman fell, injuring his hip, though official confirmation on the exact circumstances has not been provided.

A Warner Bros. spokesperson assured the public that Goodman is on the mend, stating, “He received immediate medical attention that led to a brief delay in shooting to allow him time to recover. The production resumes shooting next week following John’s full recovery.”

While initial reports hinted at a more serious injury involving his pelvis and leg, Warner Bros. has emphasized that Goodman is expected to make a full recovery and return to filming soon.

Star-Studded Cast and Film Details

The untitled project, directed by four-time Academy Award winner Alejandro González Iñárritu, features an impressive ensemble cast, including Tom Cruise, Jesse Plemons, Michael Stuhlbarg, Sandra Hüller, and Riz Ahmed. While much about the film remains under wraps, IMDb reports that the plot centers around “the most powerful man in the world causing a disaster and embarking on a mission to prove that he is the savior of humanity.”

Given Iñárritu’s reputation for visually stunning and thought-provoking films like Birdman and The Revenant, expectations for this movie are high. Fans of both Goodman and Cruise are eager to see what the acclaimed director has in store.

A Difficult Year for Goodman

Goodman’s injury comes on the heels of another personal setback. In January, the Roseanne star lost his $4.6 million home in the devastating Pacific Palisades wildfire, which also affected several other celebrities, including Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Adam Brody, Leighton Meester, Milo Ventimiglia, and Mandy Moore.

Despite this hardship, Goodman has remained committed to his work, continuing to film alongside Hollywood’s biggest names. His dedication and resilience have made him one of the industry’s most respected actors, and his fans are hopeful that he will recover quickly from this latest setback.

Production Moving Forward

While Goodman’s injury briefly delayed filming, Warner Bros. has confirmed that production will resume next week. The studio has not indicated whether any changes will be made to the film’s shooting schedule to accommodate the actor’s recovery, but given the high-profile nature of the project, they are likely taking every precaution to ensure Goodman’s health and well-being.

As the veteran actor recovers, fans continue to send their well wishes, eagerly anticipating his return to the set and, eventually, to the big screen. With a powerhouse cast and a visionary director at the helm, this upcoming film is shaping up to be one of the most highly anticipated releases in the coming years.
