Heidi Montag breaks down in tears at site of burned down home 2 months after wildfires: ‘Never gets easier’

Heidi Montag got emotional as she revisited the site where her home once stood before it was tragically destroyed by a fire.

The 38-year-old reality star shared her poignant visit with fans on Instagram, revealing the raw emotions she felt while facing the remnants of the home she and her family had lost.

In a video posted on Friday, Montag could be seen tearing up as she stood among the charred debris. “It really never gets easier… coming back here,” she said, her voice filled with emotion.

Taking a deep breath, Montag softly added, “Wow,” as she looked around at the remains of her house.

As she scanned the site, Montag pointed out a few items that remained recognizable amid the wreckage, like a cup that she could still identify.

Her eyes welled up with tears as she added, “I miss my house so much,” clearly overwhelmed by the sight of the destruction.

The former The Hills star was dressed in a cozy gray sweater adorned with white hearts, trying to hold back her emotions as she absorbed the scene.

In her post’s caption, Montag shared her heartbreak, writing, “Ahhh I miss my house so much! It’s so hard.. Jesus help me.” The devastation of the loss was still fresh in her heart as she confronted the remnants of a place that had once held so many personal memories for her and her family.

Accompanying her during this emotional moment was her husband, Spencer Pratt, who had been a constant source of support throughout the difficult ordeal. Montag later shared another post, revealing that Pratt had placed a hummingbird feeder on the site after noticing two birds flying nearby. The gesture was a small but meaningful sign of hope amid the overwhelming sadness.

In a separate, more reflective moment, Montag confessed that she would feel a sense of sorrow when the last bits of debris were cleared away, symbolizing the finality of the loss of all the personal belongings she had once cherished. “Ah, it’s the last of everything,” she said, speaking to the inevitability of the process. Even as she grappled with the emotions tied to the loss, Montag remained hopeful. “Hopefully, we’ll be able to rebuild,” she said with optimism, adding, “One step at a time” in her post’s caption.

While Montag allowed herself a moment to grieve, her husband, Pratt, took a different approach when he revisited the site. Instead of focusing solely on the devastation, Pratt decided to inject some humor into the situation. He asked fans to support their rebuilding efforts by streaming Montag’s 2010 album, Superficial. The album, which had previously risen to No. 1 on iTunes, was part of Pratt’s plan to raise funds to help them rebuild their home. His lighthearted call to action was an effort to turn the difficult situation into something positive and productive, as he sought to gather support from their fans.

In addition to their fundraising efforts, Pratt also shared that his recent TikTok success had made a significant financial impact. The couple revealed that they had earned thousands of dollars through their TikTok content, a source of income that Pratt called “phenomenal and life-changing.”

Amidst all the personal challenges they’ve faced, Montag and Pratt are also taking legal action. Along with 20 other residents in the area, the couple is suing the city of Los Angeles. They claim that the city’s poor management of the region’s water supply and infrastructure contributed to the devastating fire that destroyed their home. The legal case is still pending, and it remains to be seen how it will unfold.

Despite the many hurdles the couple has faced since the fire, Montag’s emotional visit to the site of their home demonstrates the deep sense of loss she continues to feel. However, with the support of her family, friends, and fans, she remains hopeful that they can rebuild both their lives and their home, one step at a time.

Through all the challenges, Montag and Pratt have shown their resilience and determination to move forward, embracing both humor and hope as they continue to navigate the difficult journey of recovery.
