rogress to the dedicated team of caregivers supporting them and the changes she has made to ensure her children have the best possible environment.

“We’re in a place where Hope is thriving,” Kotb told PEOPLE. “She’s improving, we’re watching her,

and I think as time goes on, we’ll have a better handle on it, but we’re already seeing great differences.”

With a strong support system in place, Kotb expressed gratitude for the excellent medical care Hope is receiving.

“I feel like she is finding steady footing,” she said, offering hope to those following her family’s journey.

A Move to Westchester for a Fresh Start

As part of ensuring the best quality of life for her daughters, Kotb recently made a significant life change—moving from New York City to Westchester. The decision was driven by her desire to provide Hope and her 7-year-old sister, Haley, with a childhood full of outdoor play and a sense of community.

“I want my kids to feel grass on their feet, and play in the yard, and ride bikes down the street, and run up and down the stairs,” she explained.

Kotb expressed excitement about their new home, saying she envisions it as the perfect place for her daughters to grow. “I just see that life for them in this perfect house in this beautiful little town where I know they’ll be able to blossom into beautiful, independent, strong women.”

Stepping Away from Today to Prioritize Family

In addition to the move, Kotb made another significant life decision in 2023—stepping away from the Today show after 17 years. Announcing her departure in September, she shared that she wants to devote more time to her children and her mother.

“My broadcast career has been beyond meaningful, a new decade of my life lies ahead, and now my daughters and my mom need and deserve a bigger slice of my time pie,” she wrote in a heartfelt letter to NBC staff on September 26.

Although she will remain in her role until early 2025, Kotb reassured fans that she is not completely leaving the network. “Happily and gratefully, I plan to remain a part of the NBC family, the longest work relationship I’ve been lucky enough to hold close to my heart,” she shared.

Her departure marks the end of an era, as she has been a familiar and cherished presence on morning television. However, she is looking forward to this next chapter in her life, focusing on her daughters and being present for them in a way she feels is most important at this stage.

Fans Show Their Support

Kotb’s candid update on Hope’s health and her life changes has resonated deeply with her fans, who have followed her journey as both a journalist and a mother. Social media has been flooded with messages of love and support, praising her for prioritizing family and offering well wishes for Hope’s continued recovery.

Her openness about the challenges of balancing career and motherhood has made her an inspiration to many. Through it all, Kotb remains hopeful and optimistic about the future, grateful for the love and support surrounding her and her family.

As she embraces these new beginnings, fans will undoubtedly continue to cheer her on—both as a devoted mother and a beloved media personality. While her time on Today will soon come to an end, her impact on audiences will surely last for years to come.
