Kym Marsh has opened up about the difficulties she has faced in life, admitting that it is not a “fairytale” and that “life is a struggle.”

The actress made the candid confession during a recent interview, following reports of her alleged breakup with Samuel Thomas, 29.
The former Coronation Street star, 48, was reportedly in a relationship with the younger performer for six months before their romance came to an end late last year.
It is believed that their relationship concluded just before Christmas after the pair had finished working together on the touring production of 101 Dalmatians: The Musical.

Speaking to Closer magazine, Kym shared her perspective on facing life’s hardships and emphasized the importance of resilience.

While she refrained from discussing her personal relationships in detail, her words appeared to reflect the challenges she has encountered.

“Life is always a struggle – it’s not like all of a sudden, it’s a fairytale,” Kym stated. “There are always things that people struggle with. I think people are out there and they’re struggling—having a hard time or trying to achieve a dream—and my advice is just to keep going. I find that eventually, things generally pay off. So just keep going.”
As Kym approaches her 49th birthday in June, she is already looking ahead to the milestone of turning 50 next year. The actress has vowed to make herself a priority after years of putting others first.
“I have a tendency to always put others before myself, so this year, I’m going to [put myself first] and I think that’s the right thing to do, especially when you’re heading for the big 5-0,” she revealed. “It’s about making better food choices, getting back into the gym, getting more sleep, and spending more time at home.”
With a busy career and a large, blended family to care for, Kym is focusing on balancing her professional and personal responsibilities. She is a mother of two, a grandmother to three, and also has a step-grandchild.

Reports of her split with Samuel surfaced last month, with sources suggesting that the end of their tour together made it more difficult for them to maintain their relationship. According to insiders, while Kym and Samuel were deeply enamored with each other at the start of their romance, things changed once their time on tour came to an end.
“Kym and Sam fell head over heels when they first met and couldn’t wait to tell the world,” a source claimed. “But once Kym’s role in 101 Dalmatians ended, it became harder to spend time together, and some of the magic they had at the beginning just disappeared.”

The timing of their breakup, just before the holiday season, was unfortunate, but Kym reportedly leaned on her loved ones for support. “It’s such a shame, especially before Christmas, but Kym surrounded herself with family,” the source added.
Despite the end of their relationship, Kym had previously appeared smitten with Samuel, as seen in a series of photos they shared on social media. During their time together, Samuel expressed his affection for Kym, posting a heartfelt message alongside pictures of their outings in London.

In one post, he wrote: “Life’s pretty great right now. Two wonderful days in London staying at @strandpalace in between venues last week, and what a lovely time we had. Great food, new tattoos, Camden Market, @kissmekateuk @barbicancentre, and all the laughter and love. I love you @marsh_kym ❤️.”
Now, with the reported relationship behind her, Kym is focused on her well-being and future. Her commitment to self-care and perseverance is evident in her words, as she continues to encourage others to keep moving forward despite life’s inevitable struggles.

As she prepares for the next chapter in her life, Kym is embracing change, prioritizing herself, and maintaining her dedication to both her career and family. With her milestone birthday on the horizon, she is determined to make choices that will enhance her well-being and happiness in the years to come.
