The 27-year-old stepped out on a sunny but wet New York day and made sure to carry a big blue umbrella.
While no doubt she was doing so just to stay dry, the Umbrella songstress also ensured she gave quite a few people a little chuckle.
Making song lyrics come to life aside, Rihanna was out and about on the rainy day to promote her new animated feature Home.
As she did, the singer brightened up the day in a striking white ensemble featuring a matching floral brocade jacket and dress with a scalloped edge by Simone Rocha.
Initially the star also had on another white coat with fur lining to keep warm but, with an outfit as impressive as hers, she quickly ditched the coat to allow it to shine.
The singer accessorised the look with a pair of flat white Mary Janes and silver framed sunglasses with an unusual white detail along the top.
Not quite ready to face the day despite looking stunning, Rihanna sipped on what looked like a tiny iced espresso as she headed out the door.

The 27-year-old voices character Tip in Dreamworks animated film Home that also stars Steve Martin, Jennifer Lopez and Jim Parsons.
In the film, Tip escapes being removed from Earth by invading aliens who think they are doing humans a favour, with the help of a banished member of the alien group, Oh played by Jim Parsons, Tip goes on a journey to find her mother.
Home is in theatres March 27 in the US, the 20th in the UK and the 19th in Australia.
