“My ego went crazy”: Emma Stone talks about her strange friendship with Jennifer Lawrence (video)

Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence are two stars who define friendship goals in Hollywood. Both Oscar-winning actresses first met through their common friend Woody Harrelson,

and quickly became buddies, with Stone revealing that Lawrence was a positive influence who has guided her many times during her career.

But the pressure to succeed in Hollywood was immense, and the La La Land actor felt the heat, especially when it came to competing with her close friend and acknowledging her skills.

Stone confessed in an interview that she went through a phase during which she felt a little jealous of Lawrence’s talent.

It is a rarity to find close connections especially among competitors and peers in an industry like Hollywood.

But Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence have proved that two very successful stars can also be great friends and supportive colleagues.

But there was a time when Stone went through a few insecurities that led to her feeling jealous of Lawrence and her abundant talent. The Amazing Spider-Man star in an interview with Vanity Fair, spoke of feeling threatened by her friend’s success and stated,

With time, Stone realized that this was a stress that she unnecessarily put on herself. The Oscar winner understood that there was room for everyone to succeed and thrive in the industry, and that each person had their own unique individuality.

Despite being contemporaries and competitors in Hollywood, Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence have forged a lasting friendship over the years and have supported each other through their successes and failures. Having met through common friend Woody Harrelson, Stone first texted Lawrence, who immediately responded to her message. The two Oscar winners finally took their friendship from virtual to physical, after exchanging numerous messages.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Jennifer Lawrence addressed her close bond with Emma Stone and revealed the reasons behind sustaining their friendship despite having strenuous schedules while also competing with each other for fame and glory.

Seeing the camaraderie that they share, audiences will now be keen to witness both these talented stars take their chemistry one step further by sharing screen space in the future.
