There were fears that the very recent death of her grandmother would cause Rihanna to pull out of her headlining gig at the Wireless Festival today.

But the singer managed to plaster a smile on her face and dazzle the crowds at the Hyde Park event on Sunday night, after flying in shortly after attending the funeral in New York.
The singer, 24, closed her second festival in as many weeks, and didn’t disappoint the waiting fans.
Appearing onstage in a midriff-baring studded top, lacy ‘granny pants’ over stockings and peacock-patterned billowing sleeves, the singer gyrated and belted out all of her hits.

Rihanna was pictured leaving her London hotel a few hours earlier and was embraced by fans.

She had flown in the day before, shortly after attending her grandmother Dolly’s funeral in Brooklyn.

On Friday, the singer was pictured heading to the service in Brooklyn looking visibly upset.
On July 1 she revealed via Twitter that her beloved grandmother had died of cancer at a New York City hospital.
Rihanna had been keeping her Twitter followers up to date with her emotions during the trying time, uploading a number of sweet pictures of her with her ailing relative.

But ever the professional, she was back on form at Wireless on Sunday, and thrilled her adoring fans.
Earlier the crowd had been treated to a performance by Jessie J, who took to the stage shortly before Rihanna.
Wearing denim shorts over the same stripey stockings made famous by Cheryl Cole in 2010, a white crop top and an army jacket.
She came close to revealing a little more than most wanted to see when she performed an energetic high-kick.
Other big names performing on Sunday included Cher Lloyd, Labrinth, Rizzle Kicks, Kaskade and Pitbull.
A host of celebrities have been spotted enjoying the performances, including Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jason Statham.
The couple were pictured watching Calvin Harris on the PepsiMax stage, while Rihanna’s new co-stars Henry Holland and Nicola Roberts were spotted mingling in the VIP area ahead of her performance.
