Jennifer Lawrence’s husband, made shocking statement about acting career: ‘I’ll bring back her past excellence’ (video)

Outside of the movie screen, Jennifer Lawrence is known for her funny and quirky moments at award shows and interviews. But how much do we really know about the famous actress’s personal life?

In 2018, fans of Lawrence spotted her out with a mystery man, who internet sleuths eventually figured out was New York City art gallerist Cooke Maroney.

Although it is harder to remain mysterious online these days, especially if you’re tied to an A-list actress, you’d be surprised at how little information there is about Lawrence’s husband,

who is also the father to their son, Cy.

L’OFFICIEL has done all the digging for you so you don’t have to. Here’s everything you need to know about Cooke Maroney.

After the two were initially spotted out together in 2018, it wasn’t long after we heard wedding bells.

The two married in Rhode Island in October of 2019, which shocked the internet as they kept their relationship and engagement private for quite some time.

Maroney, an art gallerist based in New York City, grew up learning and appreciating the art business, as his father, James Maroney, was a former art dealer in Manhattan and Head of American Paintings at Christie’s. Maroney’s professional path mirrors his father’s, as he now directs the prestigious Gladstone Gallery in New York City, with a large clientele of esteemed individuals.

Before joining Gladstone, he worked with notable artists like Carroll Dunham and Matthew Barney at the Gagosian Gallery after completing his art history degree at NYU.

So, how did the two come to meet and fall in love? There’s nothing like a good old set-up, and that’s exactly what happened. The couple met through Lawrence’s friend, Laura.

“They met through Jen’s friend Laura….The relationship has been going on a few weeks. But they have been very private and careful not to be seen together,” a source told Page Six early in their relationship.

It’s not just the relationship, they kept private, however. Maroney avoids social media, with only a private Instagram account boasting around 2,000 followers, making him a rare sight in the digital sphere.

After a few years of a quiet marriage, People confirmed in September of 2021 that Lawrence was pregnant, although the couple did not disclose any further information.

The married couple welcomed their baby boy in February 2022, remaining private about the details, until Lawrence revealed to Vogue in September of 2022 that they named their baby boy Cy, after the postwar American painter Cy Twombly, a favorite of Maroney’s.

Navigating parenthood, the two remain together and reside in New York City with their son Cy, and were last seen enjoying a post-awards season bike ride together in March.
