After participating in the writing and production of many X-Men films, director Simon Kinberg is still returning to the main director position for the upcoming Dark Phoenix film, Fox’s final X-Men film.
It is known that director Kinberg received the support of the original X-Men cast and the director even revealed that Jennifer Lawrence would not play Mystique if the film was not directed by him.
Since the X-men: First Class era, X-men movies have featured veteran actors Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy,
Michael Fassbender and Nicholas Hoult. Most of these actors signed contracts to star in 3 films.
After X-Men: Apocalypse, Fox was afraid that they would not return to the Dark Phoenix movie.
Fortunately, the veteran cast all agreed to sign a new contract and appear in Fox’s final film before merging with Disney.
Director Simon said he also does not know what the future of X-Men will be when Fox merges with the House of Mouse.
However, that is a matter of the future, and the upcoming movie X-Men: Dark Phoenix will hit theaters on June 7.
