Victoria Beckham wears red swimsuit on yacht, echoes Baywatch! Gigi Hadid joins family at sea! The headlines from the Beckhams’ annual yacht extravaganza around Europe have been coming thick
and fast, as the vodka and tonic has flowed and the karaoke has leaned heavily on the Spice Girls’ back catalogue.
But not enough has been said about VB’s holiday wardrobe—save for her swimwear, as is always the way with long lens paparazzi pictures of celebs on holiday.
When not in gym gear or white tanks (very now) and denim shorts, the designer has been winning the classic summer dress game.
A stop off in Saint-Tropez saw David carry his wife ashore as her ivory slip dress trailed in the sea breeze.
With just a hint of a lace bralette peeping out from the acres of plain silk, the stark shade of the almost-bridal look showed off her killer tan.
The floor-length slip had shades of Beckham’s mother-of-the-bride look at her son Brooklyn’s Florida wedding to Nicola Peltz. The liquid-metallic Studio 54-inspired dress was the most exquisite piece to come out of the Victoria Beckham brand atelier since she swapped the stage for the studio over a decade ago. Fast forward to this summer, and Victoria’s Saint-Tropez moment showed her team has got slinky spaghetti strap numbers down pat.
Victoria’s second shoreline outfit echoed her former alter-ego Posh Spice’s wardrobe of LBDs, and showed just how timeless they are. In Beckham’s hands, her shift dress no longer looked plain, thanks to a Bottega Chain Pouch and ginormous VB shades. Again, she went barefoot as David carried her sandals – a small act of chivalry the media lapped up.
With the antics aboard The Madsummer—the name of the Beckhams’ superyacht—showing no sign of slowing down, we’re hoping for less social-media footage of the family’s full charm offensive and more summer style inspiration from VB, who shows a great dress can do all the talking on holiday.
