She recently faced backlash for posing topless in a photoshoot, in light of her ardent feminist views. 

But Emma Watson appeared to rise above the drama on Thursday night as she made an incredibly elegant appearance at the premiere of Beauty And The Beast in Hollywood.

The 26-year-old actress – rocking a single WWAKE earring – opted for a striking plunging jumpsuit, which showcased her slim waist and decolletage.

The Harry Potter actress looked elegant as she swept her chestnut tresses into an updo as she arrived at the El Capitan Theater.

She added a strong lip hue and defined her eyes, but kept her make-up look fresh and youthful to play up her natural beauty.

The star – who plays Belle in the live action adaptation of Disney’s film Beauty And The Beast – also sported a gold rose on her waist.

Emma was joined by her co-star Dan Stevens, who plays both the Beast and the handsome prince. 

The glamorous appearance sees Emma rising above recent backlash over her posing topless in Vanity Fair – having slammed the likes of Beyoncé in the past for doing the same. 

In her most daring snap to date, she went topless underneath an intricately caged capelet, which left nothing to the imagination.

However she then immediately faced with social media backlash accusing her of being a ‘hypocrite’ for posing in such racy attire, in light of the ardent feminist speaking out against the sexualisation of women.

The social media storm began with tweets including, ‘Feminist: Page 3 girls? Topless? Ban them! Emma Watson topless? Brave and Stunning! #doublethink #hypocrisy’.

‘f**k Emma Watson for shaming Beyoncé and discrediting her feminism for being sexual; and then turning around to do a topless shoot though’, another posted.

People appeared to be taking particular offence to the image because of Emma’s past comments about Beyonce’s brand of feminism, recalling a 2014 interview in which she described the singer’s hyper sexy image as ‘conflicting’.

Emma told Wonderland magazine at the time: ‘As I was watching [Beyoncé’s visual album] I felt very conflicted, I felt her message felt very conflicted in the sense that on the one hand she is putting herself in a category of a feminist, but then the camera, it felt very male, such a male voyeuristic experience of her.’

Emma had also declared back in 2009 that ‘I’m not just getting my kit off for anyone’ – opening the feminist star up to criticism from some quarters. 

However, the 26-year-old actress – who is a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador – was also defended by her loyal fans and fellow feminists, who blasted her critics and defended her choice to pose as she wishes.

One fan shared: ‘If you think @EmmaWatson is a hypocrite, maybe consider you shouldn’t be telling a woman what they can and can’t do with their own body’.

‘People who criticize Emma Watson for her photoshoot for Vanity Fair really have no clue about #feminism’, another tweeted.

Celine Dion put on a dazzling display in pale blue, as she arrived at the premiere. 

She chose a pastel floor length gown, which had a giant bow slung over one shoulder.  

The 48-year-old singer has recorded a new song – How Does A Moment Last Forever – for the movie, 25 years after she duetted the titular number with Peabo Bryson. 

The live action adaptation of the famous fairytale follows the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle.

Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realise the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.
