Tiger Woods has spent a lot recovering from injuries to his legs that have seen him out of play since the 2023 Masters. But now more than ever, he looks ready to compete.
He may be only sitting at even par at the Hero World Challenge, but Tiger has looked the part of a man ready to return to the sport.
Woods was seen Sunday before the final round teed off in the Bahamas – wearing a black Nike tank top with sports shorts and a calf sleeve while carrying his signature Sunday Red polo.
Fans looking at Woods remarked that he seems more prepared to play a different Sunday sport than golf thanks to a jacked physique.
‘Thought this was an NFL player walking into the stadium for their game today,’ one Twitter user wrote. ‘Then I realized it was Tiger.’
Another said, ‘Get Tiger on an NFL team. Sheesh.’
A different user wrote, ‘Looks like he could be out on the field strip sacking QB’s.’
Woods has done pretty well for himself considering the circumstances surrounding his continued recovery from a surgery that kept him away from playing professionally for eight months.
But in his return, Woods shot 75-70-71 to go into Sunday’s final round at even par, but sixteen shots behind leader Scottie Scheffler.
‘I still have game,’ Woods said. ‘It’s whether or not the body can do it. I’m very pleasantly surprised at how I’ve recovered every day. My activations in the gym have been good.’
He added, ‘To be able to knock off some of the rust as I have this week and showed myself that I can recover each and every day, that was kind of an unknown.
‘I’ve walked this far. I’ve done all my training. But add in playing and concentration and adrenaline and all those other factors that speed up everything, I’m very excited how the week’s turned out.’
