Beckham made football fans cry when he recalled the feeling he never forgot when he was at MU (video)

David Beckham says the feeling of winning the Champions League with Manchester United was his greatest – and unfortunately, one he’ll never experience again.

The iconic midfielder, who lifted 10 significant trophies during his 11-year spell at Old Trafford, forged countless victorious moments as part of United’s supremacy under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Yet, out of all the silverware and acclaim, it was the euphoric Champions League victory in 1999 that stood out most for the now Inter Miami owner,

a feeling he confessed to missing deeply, reports the Mirror.

In what is often hailed as the most electrifying conclusion to a European final, United overturned Bayern Munich with two injury-time goals, clinching the cup they hadn’t secured since 1968.

The last-gasp winner from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, following Teddy Sheringham’s leveller, plunged Ferguson’s squad into delirium after their nail-biting win.

Reflecting on this during the new ’99’ documentary, which drops exclusively on Prime Video on Friday, May 17, Beckham expressed a longing for that unparalleled high, even after a quarter of a century.

“I want that feeling again, I can never have that again, I will never have that feeling again,” the 49-year-old lamented. Beckham’s stellar performances throughout that season earned him the accolade of UEFA Club Footballer of the Year, while he also finished second to Rivaldo for the Ballon d’Or and FIFA World Player of the Year awards in 1999.

During the documentary, he reflected: “I don’t think it’ll ever be done the way we did it. Three minutes to go in the Champions League final to do the Treble. It was a dream”.

After spending four additional seasons with Manchester United, the ex-England skipper made a surprising transfer to Real Madrid in 2003, where he clinched the La Liga title in his final season in Spain.

Following his retirement from football in 2013, Beckham has since become a club owner in the MLS with Inter Miami where he’s signed the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba.
