Which promises to be a “full-evening symphonic storytelling experience exploring the threads of her life in song.”

Announcing the show – which will first take place in Nashville next March before going on to travel the world – Parton shared:

“I’m just so excited to share my songs and the stories behind them in this beautiful new way.

“Threads: My Songs in Symphony is like a journey through the heartstrings of my life. I hope we can take it far and wide to symphony orchestras everywhere!” she added.

Threads: My Songs in Symphony ticketholders will be treated to orchestral arrangements of the famous country singer’s most popular songs.

Alongside films of Parton talking about her music and life story, making the show a full-blown audio and visual multimedia experience.

Musician David Hamilton’s arrangements of Parton’s songs for this special show are billed as “new and innovative orchestrations of Dolly’s hit songs.” The show’s first performance in Nashville will be on 20th March by the famous country city’s GRAMMY winning Nashville Synphony orchestra.

Future performances of the show across the world are expected to be played by other orchestras across the globe. And while each show is unlikely to feature an in-person performance from Parton, performances from special guest vocalists and musicians are promised.

The show’s co-producers Schirmer Theatrical and Sony Music Publishing both celebrated today’s show news, with Schirmer Theatrical President, Robert Thompson saying: “Bringing the genius, music, life, and legacy of Dolly Parton to symphonic audiences is an honour for us.

“Audiences will hear for the first time Dolly’s songs performed by orchestras worldwide in this innovative symphonic story-telling experience.”
