Earlier, Nicholas Hoult, who played the character of Beast in X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past, had divulged of discontinuation with the movie, although he said that he wouldn’t reject the offer to return for a future project. Following Nicholas, Lawrence would be the second X-Men cast member to part her ways with the franchise.

Possibly, X-Men: Days of Future Past‘s director Bryan Singer would direct X-Men: Apocalypse. Bryan has constructed the characters in a way to turn-over any potential cast characters like Storm, Cyclops and Jean Grey rejoined the superhero franchise in the movie. Likewise, Mystique’s character wouldn’t be dropped from the movie because of Lawrence parting from X-Men franchise. In the original X-Men trilogy, Rebecca Romijn played the character of Mystique while Lawrence was the second actress to appear in the series as the blue mutant.
