Caitlin Clark’s debut in Indiana Fever left viewers disappointed, why? (video)

The Connecticut Sun will host the Indiana Fever as Caitlin Clark will make her WNBA regular season debut.

Clark’s highly anticipated debut had people clamoring for tickets for this sell-out. Clark was the face of college basketball and enters the WNBA as the most hyped player in years.

Whether you have a ticket or if you are watching from home, here’s what you need to know about the game.

When is the game?

The game is Tuesday, with the tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Fans are advised to arrive at Mohegan Sun early with close to 9,000 expected to flood the casino late in the afternoon.

Parking is free at Mohegan Sun.

Where is the game?

The opener is the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville. The venue has been the Sun’s home since 2003.

Is the game on TV?

Clark’s WNBA debut will be available on ESPN2. The game will also be available to stream on ESPN+ or Disney+.

ESPN2 is also availabe on streaming services such as YouTube TV, Sling TV, Hulu + Live TV, Fubo, and DIRECTV STREAM.

What are the details of ESPN’s coverage?

ESPN will broadcast a “WNBA Finals-like” production for Clark’s debut. The production crew will have multiple camera angles for cinematic viewing and player mics.

ESPN’s top broadcast crew of Ryan Ruocco, Holly Rowe, and UConn women’s basketball great Rebecca Lobo will be on the call.

WNBA Countdown will be live on-site and broadcast at 7:00 p.m., 30 minutes prior to tipoff. LaChina Robinson, Monica McNutt, and Carolyn Peck will host the pregame, half-time and postgame coverage.

What to know about the Sun

Connecticut is coming off a 27-13 season, finishing second in the Eastern Conference. The Sun lost to the New York Liberty in the playoffs.

Stephanie White begins her second season as coach. The Sun’s veteran core includes MVP candidate Alyssa Thomas, along with DeWanna Bonner, and and Brionna Jones, who is returning from an injury.

The team added point guard Moriah Jefferson and veteran guard Rachel Banham.

 

What to know about the Fever

Indiana was 13-27 last season and has secure the top pick in the WNBA Draft each of the past two years.

In 2023, the team drafted forward Aliyah Boston. The former South Carolina star was WNBA rookie of the year last season.

This year, the Fever landed Clark. She’ll move into the starting lineup.

Indiana, coached by Christie Sides, is led by leading scorer Kelsey Mitchell (18.2 points) and leading rebounder NaLyssa Smith (9.2 rebounds). The Fever added former UConn star Katie Lou Samuelson.
