David Beckham sent a message after Roy Keane shared the heartbreaking news in a rare social media post (video)

Roy Keane has become a leading face in punditry since the end of his legendary playing career and his time as a coach and as a manager.

The Manchester United legend is widely admired for his no-nonsense approach and refusal to pull no punches during his critiques in the Sky Sports studio.

Keane has also become a prominent media personality online, having teamed up with former United teammate Gary Neville for The Overlap’s Stick to Football show.

The 52-year-old Irishman has a limited presence on social media, but Keane does have his own Instagram account and has entertained fans with his posts at times.

Keane has amassed a whopping 2.1m followers on Instagram, but eagle-eyed fans have also spotted that the former United captain does not follow a single account.

Despite posting entertaining content, including one moment with United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Keane shared a sad update on his latest post on Instagram.

Roy Keane took to Instagram and made his first post on the platform since March, with the Manchester United legend announcing the passing of one of his dogs.

The former United and Nottingham Forest midfielder shared photos and a video of his dog Jet in the post.

From photos featuring Keane with Jet to the dog playing with another dog, the Irish hardman paid tribute to Jet in a fitting social media post.

“Thanks, Jet, for being so beautiful and loyal to our family. We will miss you,” Keane wrote in a caption to his 2.1m followers.

David Beckham was one of the famed Class of ’92 members who broke into the United first team during the 1990s under former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

The 49-year-old former United and Real Madrid superstar has spoken highly of Keane’s influence as a captain and teammate at Old Trafford.

Keane, meanwhile, holds high admiration for Beckham after his former United teammate’s sensational impact at the Premier League club.

Beckham took to Instagram and sent a message to Keane after the passing of Jet.

The United legend told Keane that the “last picture” he chose for his Instagram post was “amazing,” which featured Jet looking across a field.

“The last picture is amazing… Sorry for your loss Roy,” Beckham wrote, adding a heart emoji.

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville was also spotted in the comments and the United legend simply left a heart emoji on Keane’s rare Instagram post.
