Jay Z, the rap legend and husband of Beyonce, has slammed the Grammys for failing to acknowledge Beyonce’s album Lemonade in 2017.

Jay Z, who has won 22 Grammys himself, said in a recent interview that he was upset that the Grammys did not appreciate Beyonce’s work, which was a powerful exploration of black identity, feminism, and empowerment.
He said that he felt like the Grammys were out of touch with the culture and the music industry, and that he boycotted the ceremony in 2018 as a sign of protest.
Jay Z also threw shade at Taylor Swift, who won the Album of the Year award for 1989 over Beyonce’s self-titled album in 2015.

He said that he did not think that Taylor’s album was better than Beyonce’s, and that he did not understand how the Grammys made their decisions. He said that he was not trying to disrespect Taylor, but he was just stating his opinion.

Jay Z also expressed his disappointment that SZA, a rising R&B star and his protégé, lost to Taylor in the Best New Artist category in 2018.

He said that SZA deserved to win, as she had a phenomenal debut album, Ctrl, that showcased her talent and versatility. He said that he was proud of SZA, and that he hoped that she would continue to make great music and get the recognition she deserved.
