Jay-Z was moved to tears by seeing his daughter Blue Ivy perform with Beyoncé on the Renaissance World Tour.

The rapper, who is also a father to six-year-old twins Rumi and Sir, shared his pride and admiration for his eldest child in an interview with Gayle King on CBS Mornings.
Blue Ivy, who is 11 years old, joined her mother on stage for the first time during the show in Paris on May 26, 2023.
She danced alongside Beyoncé during the medley of “My Power” and “Black Parade”, from Beyoncé’s Lion King-inspired album The Gift. She also appeared on the song’s bonus track “Brown Skin Girl”,

which won a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance in 2021.

Jay-Z said that Blue Ivy had been born into a life she didn’t ask for, and that she had faced scrutiny and public opinion since her birth.

He said that seeing her reclaim her power and confidence on stage was a defining moment for her. He also praised Beyoncé’s tour as his wife’s best yet, saying that it felt like the most complete one.
The Renaissance World Tour is not the first time that Blue Ivy has collaborated with her parents. She also featured on Jay-Z’s 2017 album 4:44, on the track “Blue’s Freestyle/We Family”,
where she rapped about her assets and innocence. She also appeared in Beyoncé’s music videos for “Formation” and “Black Parade”.
