Tiger Woods’s competition secret was suddenly leaked while he was instructing his son to practice, really? (video)

Tiger Woods had son Charlie on the practice area ahead of the final day at The Masters,

where the 15-time major champion was making his 100th competitive round at Augusta National; Woods carded a final-round 77 to end the week on 16 over

Woods played 23 holes on Friday to secure a record-breaking 24th consecutive cut at Augusta National, where he then carded the worst round of his major career with a 10-over 82 on Saturday.

There were concerns that Woods may be forced to withdraw ahead of the final day for the second successive year,

having broken his worst Masters score by four shots, although he alleviated those fears by insisting “we’ll be ready” to play on Sunday.

Woods wore his traditional red for the final round, the first time he has used a shirt with the Sun Day Red logo in tournament play since changing clothing brands,

while he gave the one range pass permitted to players at this event to his son.

Charlie was pictured appearing to give his dad some swing advice on the practice grounds, with the teenager stood behind Woods’ swing for multiple shots and then seen holding a club to help with a warm-up drill.

The lengthy range session generated plenty of interest from the Augusta patrons and created another lasting Masters image between the pair, five years to the day that Woods shared a hug with his son after the dramatic victory in the 2019 contest.

Woods played alongside Neal Shipley on the final day – the only amateur to make the cut – and made a slow start to his final round, falling to four over after six holes after triple-bogeying the par-four fifth, then struggled to a five-over 77 to end the week on 16 over.

This week’s event is the first time since The Masters in 2022 that Woods completed 72 holes in a major and just the fourth time in any competitive tournament since his Augusta title defence in November 2020.

Butch Harmon worked with the 15-time major champion during the ‘Tiger Slam’ in 2000 and 2001 and has helped multiple major champions, with the legendary coach impressed with Woods’ work with his son.

“I thought this was phenomenal,” Harmon told Sky Sports. “He’s got his young son there as his coach and this is a drill I used to do with him – they talked about that this morning – get that club so it doesn’t exit too much out to the right.

“He paid a lot of attention to what Charlie said. He really paid attention in what the young man was saying, so they’ve obviously spent a lot of time talking about what he wants to do and how he’s trying to do it. It’s kind of refreshing.

“How special is that? Sunday at The Masters and he’s right there like he’s his coach and he’s into it, and Tiger is listening to him. Heck, my father won The Masters – I wouldn’t even listen to him!”
