X-Men’s actor praises Jennifer as the most charming mutant, and Maroney’s unexpected reaction surprises everyone (video)

She plays a mutant who can change shape to look like any person in X-Men: Days Of Future Past.

But Jennifer Lawrence proved that the most impressive form she assumes in the film is her own in a new poster for the action-adventure movie.

The 23-year-old pulls open a fur-lined coat in the still, revealing a cut-out dress and retro outfit that displays her toned and lithe physique.

Wearing long stringy earrings, the actress sports a fringe as her skimpy LBD is cinched by a large Seventies style leather belt with a massive metallic buckle.

The actress reprises her role as Mystique from the previous instalment X-Men: Origins.

The blue scaly skinned mutant can shape shift into nearly an humanoid creature, male or female, and was played in the previous X-Men movies by Rebecca Romijn.

And if the new trailer for the action-packed film is anything to go by, Jennifer is going to play a very prominent role in the film.

The clip shows her jumping through a Parisian glass window, morphing from a soldier back to the blonde ‘human’ looking Lawrence, and getting rather close to Michael Fassbender’s Magneto otherwise known as Erik Lehnsherr.

Meanwhile, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine plays a pivotal role in the film, straddling two timelines when he is asked by the older Professor X (Stewart) to return to the past to persuade his younger self (James McAvoy) to change the past and therefore save the mutants of the future.

This means teaming up with his old friend and enemy Magneto (McKellen) whose younger self is again played by Fassbender.

A threat is posed by military scientist Bolivar Trask (Peter Dinklage) whose company has created a range of robots called Sentinels whose purpose is to hunt and destroy mutants.

The film sees the return of many of the X-Men cast members from the original three film franchise including Halle Berry as Storm,  Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde and Anna Paquin’s Rogue.

It follows on from the hit 2011 film X-Men: First Class set in 1962 and set as a prequel to the trilogy.

‘This is a story about a bad future, not a bad situation with an individual, but a bad future and how do you go back and change that,’ the film’s director Bryan Singer told Collider earlier this year.

The film, again directed by Bryan Singer, is slated for release in the U.S. on May 23 and was filmed in Montreal, Canada last year.
