The ‘toy’ named Harry was brought along by its owner Meghan on their recent trip

Meghan Markle has given out plenty of hints that her “confidence has grown” since leaving the Royal Family, according to a body language expert.

The former Suits star stepped down as a senior working royal alongside her husband Prince Harry back in 2020.

Since then, the pair have worked hard to develop a name for themselves away from The Firm and body language expert Darren Stanton believes it’s paid off.

He said Harry seems more “expressive” and “true to himself”, while Meghan has shown she is “her own boss”. He explained: “Meghan often dresses in white to make herself feel empowered and strong.

“She is very similar to Camilla in terms of body language and how far her confidence has grown. Meghan is very good at composing herself.

We rarely see any slips of confidence from Meghan. She never lets herself come across as incompetent or needing support.

“She is her own boss and there’s a sense she doesn’t want to let anyone down. She’s a naturally good communicator and could speak to anyone she crosses paths with.”

Darren also suggested the Duchess of Sussex likes to take centre stage. He said: “Meghan is a leading figure like Harry in that she’s open about how she’s feeling and wants to let people in.”

Speaking about Harry, Darren said he is the “most open royal”. He explained: “He’s an open book and wants to let people in. When Harry isn’t feeling comfortable, we will see his face and neck flush red – a clear sign of embarrassment or discomfort. It’s the body’s way of reacting when we experience a change in emotion or a situation where we’re not at ease.”

The expert said Harry now seems very different to when he was part of the Royal Family. “Harry used to be very quiet and shy when out and about as a Royal, whereas now he is very expressive with how he’s feeling. He wears his heart on his sleeve and isn’t afraid to be true to himself,” Darren said.

He added: “Nowadays, it’s rare for Harry to feel nervous when attending royal events. When he was seen at the Invictus Games, almost nothing could get in the way of his confidence. You can see a dramatic change in Harry’s resilience and independence.

“He loves to connect with people. He’s a very active listener and wants to help and support where he can. He’s always displaying genuine smiles with direct body language, suggesting he’s in a good place but also being true with his emotions.”

Darren Stanton is a body language expert who spoke to The Mirror on behalf of Betfair Bingo.
