Meghan Markle got a “dressing down” from Queen Elizabeth after one remark.

Royal author Katie Nicholl alleged that the incident happened when the Duchess was taste-testing food for her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.

She was reportedly left “unimpressed” and said to have “got very upset” after saying she “felt that she could taste egg” in one of the dishes.

Katie told Yahoo’s Royal Box that Meghan was informed there was no egg in the dish, yet she was unconvinced. The Duchess allegedly hit back: “No, I can taste it.”

Queen Elizabeth II, who died in September 2022, walked into the room at Windsor Castle and “quietly took Meghan to the side”.

The late monarch allegedly told Meghan that “the Royal Family does not speak to people like that”.

Rumours concerning Meghan’s interactions with staff previously surfaced after her former communications secretary, Jason Knauf, accused her of bullying.

Meghan and her representatives have consistently denied all such allegations, with them previously being described as a “calculated smear campaign based on misleading and harmful misinformation”.
