Jennifer Lawrence may have won moviegoers hearts as Katniss Everdeen in the “Hunger Games” movies, but audiences didn’t always find her so charming.

On Wednesday night’s “Conan” the “American Hustle” star, 23, took time from joking with host Conan O’Brien about giving out signed head shots to her family as Christmas gifts,

to talk about how “weird” she was as a teen.

Lawrence, whose childhood hyperactivity earned her the nickname “Nitro,” was eager to impress her classmates as a child, but didn’t always find a receptive audience.

“When I was 13, I peed my pants when I was in seventh grade,” the actress said. “Well, not peed my pants, I peed when I was sleeping — I wet the bed.

I just thought, who wets the bed when they’re 13. So I couldn’t wait to get to school to tell everybody.”

“I woke and looked, and was like, ‘Oh my god, when’s the alarm going to go off, when am I going to get there,’” she continued. “Then I went to the bleachers and was like, ‘Everybody, I wet the bed last night!’ thinking everyone was going to think that was so funny and cool. It was just silent.”

Lawrence followed with more proof of her adolescent awkwardness, including her decision to introduce herself to a new friend on the first day of school by whispering his name in the creepiest way possible.

While she may be a bonafide movie star at this point, Lawrence hasn’t left her awkwardness behind completely. The actress also relayed and embarrassing, and highly entertaining, story about butt plugs.

“Somebody as a joke bought me a bunch of butt plugs. It’s a long story,” Lawrence said. “A really, really long story. Just trust me that it’s normal—this story. so I had a copious amount of butt plugs. Tons of butt plugs. All different fits and colors. A huge amount of different-colored butt plugs. So the maid was coming so I was like, ‘Well I’ll just shove this under the bed so she doesn’t see all these butt plugs.’ She might not know they’re for a joke.”

Of course, those butt plugs didn’t stay hidden for long.

“Then I came back and all of them were brought out of the bed and were in this beautiful display on my bedside table,” she continued. “I think she knew what she was doing. They were under the bed! I wanted to leave a note like, ‘not mine’ or ‘bought as joke.’”

“American Hustle” is currently in select theaters and opens nationwide on Friday.
