With her marriage in turmoil, Angelina Jolie has for some months now been leaving her children in the care of her beloved and much trusted brother James Haven.

Haven, 43, has been seen accompanying her and the kids to Cambodia where she was shooting a movie and at several airports as she travels with one or more of her children with Brad Pitt.

And now photos taken just the day before Jolie blindsided Pitt by filing for divorce show Haven with the couple’s three biological children Shiloh, 10, and twins Vivienne and Knox, eight, together at a LA park.

Haven and the kids spent time playing baseball and resting at a picnic table during their outing on Sunday.

He was wearing his favorite beret and some sunglasses as he watched over the youngsters along with a female companion. 

The one-time actor first came to the world’s attention back in 2000 when Jolie and he kissed on the mouth at the Oscars where she won a Supporting Actress Academy Award for Girl, Interrupted.

His presence was first noted earlier this year and subsequent reports claimed he’d been made the ‘full-time nanny’ to his sister’s children.

In July, OK! magazine claimed he’d stepped up to fill Pitt’s shoes as a father figure because the Hollywood actor was working so hard and was away from home much of the time.

In fact, Haven was spending so much time with his nieces and nephews, the publication reported the youngest of them – Knox and Vivienne – had started calling him ‘daddy’.

‘Brad’s absolutely working his butt off right now and the kids rarely see him, a source told OKMagazine.com. ‘He leaves for the set before they wake and comes home after they’ve gone to bed.’

RadarOnline revealed Tuesday that the actress had also allegedly fired the family’s nanny several months ago for what she regarded as ‘flirting’ with her husband.
