Scottie Scheffler won the Memorial Tournament on Sunday, carding an eight-over 280 to earn a one-shot victory over Collin Morikawa.
And with that, Scheffler stands alongside Tiger Woods on a list that includes no other, per the PGA Tour’s communications department.
Scheffler also earned victory at the RBC Heritage on April 22, and he now has five victories for the season.
Scheffler’s five wins have all occurred within his last eight events, dating back to the Arnold Palmer Invitational from March 7 to 10. He’s also earned two second-place finishes during that span,
with the lone outlier being an eighth-place result at the PGA Championship. Overall, Scheffler played in 13 events and finished top-10 in all but one.
Along the way, Scheffler’s made a ton of money, per Justin Ray of Twenty First Group.
Scheffler also has a shot at finishing with the most wins in a season since 1950. That number is nine, shared by Woods (2000) and Vijay Singh (2004). His five wins are also the most in one year since Justin Thomas’ five in 2017.
The reigning Masters champion is rolling in hot going into the U.S. Open, which will take place at Pinehurst in North Carolina beginning Thursday.
