Why am I treated with such disdain as an actress just because I’m a woman? Jennifer wonders, questioning the reason for her discrimination

On February 20, Unilad’s source said that Jennifer Lawrence was unhappy when she discovered

that her male colleague received a salary of 30 million USD – 5 million USD more than her when co-starring in the comedy Don’t Look Up directed by Adam McKay.

The two played a pair of scientists who discovered a meteorite about to hit Earth, which could lead to the end of the world.

Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio are both actors with the highest salaries in Hollywood.

The star has appeared in many blockbuster series such as The Hunger Games, X-men… Meanwhile,

Leo is known as Hollywood’s “box office guarantee”, rarely having a project fail at the theater in the past decade.

Lawrence once mentioned being paid less than Leo in an interview in Vogue magazine’s October 2022 issue: “The problem is, no matter how hard I try, I can’t get paid as much as him. Is it because I’m a woman?”.

In 2014, the actress mentioned that she and co-star Amy Adams were paid less than male leads Christian Bale and Bradley Cooper in American Hustle. “When Sony’s network data was hacked and revealed that I was paid less than my male colleagues, I wasn’t angry at the studio. I was angry at myself,” the actress wrote on her personal page.

Jennifer Lawrence, born in 1990, is known for the X-men series, The Hunger Games. In 2013, she won the Oscar for Best Actress for Silver Linings Playbook. She returned to the screen in the blockbuster Don’t Look Up (2021) after nearly two years of rest to take care of her family.
