As she jet-sets around the world promoting her new biblical epic, Noah, Emma Watson has spoken out about her own religious beliefs.
Ahead of her appearance at a press call for the blockbuster on Tuesday, the actress revealed that she sees a significant number of uniting principles between ‘so many religions’.
‘I already, before I did the movie, had a sense that I was someone that was more spiritual, than specifically religious’, the 23-year-old told the Telegraph.
‘I had a sense that I believed in a higher power, but that I was more of a Universalist, I see that there are these unifying tenets between so many religions’, she added.
The $75million movie has attracted criticism from both Christians and Muslims for its take on the hero.
It was also banned in three Arab countries after religious leaders complained at the way it depicted Noah – who is also a prophet in the Koran.
Wowing in a plunging black number, the Emma undoubtedly turned heads as she arrived at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverley Hills.
She opted for some bold lipstick while keeping her accessories to a minimum, letting her dress do the talking instead.
With her long hair tied back in a sleek ponytail, the former Harry Potter star sported natural make-up which made her deep purple gloss stand out even more.
Meanwhile her sleeveless outfit featured a number of white details under the bust and on her hip, and a purple sash along the front.
She finished off her ensemble with a simple gold bar necklace and a silver lighting bolt ring before posing for photographers.
Emma made an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres show the previous day, and later tweeted: ‘I loved meeting you too Jason! X @TheEllenShow @batemanjason’.
To coincide with the release of Noah, in which she plays Russell Crowe’s adopted daughter, she will take over MTV’s Twitter account when she walks down the red carpet at the New York premiere on Wednesday.
