On Saturday, Rihanna stepped out in New York City rocking a brand-new ‘do.
While the singer and businesswoman, 36, was recently seen wearing her hair long and blond,
she opted to switch things up, showing off her short, natural curls instead, which appeared to be dyed a light, honey color.
The cropped cut couldn’t have debuted at a more perfect time; Last week,
Rihanna announced she was expanding her Fenty Beauty empire and would finally be launching Fenty Hair on June 13.
“A new family is moving in! @fentyhair is pullin up and it’s time to finally have the hair experience you’ve been waiting for,”
the mom of two captioned her announcement post, which showed her wearing her hair in a light blond pixie cut.
“You know how much switching my hair up matters to me,” she continued, possibly hinting at the major change to come. “I’ve had almost every texture, color, length, from weaves to braids to natural- so I am launching a flexible line of products for not only every hair want, but every single product is designed to strengthen and repair all types of hair, which is what we truly need! It’s time to play and get stronger by the style.”
Of course, Rihanna’s outfit was just as eye-catching as her fresh new chop.
Keep it casual yet glam, she let a black bra peek out of a gray tank top, and paired the combo with black pants, clear heels, and a voluminous vintage John Galliano fur coat from 1998.
She layered a gold Briony Raymon necklace and large hoop earrings to add a bit of sparkle, while she finished the look with black sunglasses and a graphic Louis Vuitton x Stephen Sprouse purse ($1,500).
After announcing her latest business move — leaving rabid fans questioning if she’ll ever release new music — RiRi trolled her fans with a playful graphic T-shirt dress that read “I’m retired. This is as dressed up as I get.”
The “Diamonds” songstress has been teasing new music since 2019, but continues to focus on her other ventures instead of releasing an album.
