The Voice US has lined up Ariana Grande as its new coach.

The ‘Dangerous Woman’ singer is set to join NBC’s American version of the singing competition for its 21st season, saying she’s “beyond thrilled” to get her own spinning chair.

Of course, a new coach joining The Voice means another has to be leaving – Grande will be replacing Nick Jonas alongside Blake Shelton, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson.

“I’m so honoured and excited to join The Voice family! I have been a huge fan of the show for such a long time,” Grande said in a statement.

“I can’t wait to go head-to-head with the incredible coaches, get to know these new artists and help to take their craft to the next level.”

The Voice US frequently changes up its coaching panel, with top stars like Shakira.

Gwen Stefani, Pharrell Williams, Jennifer Hudson and Alicia Keys among those who’ve had their own red spinning chair over the years.

The original coaching team featured Shelton, CeeLo Green, Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine – the latter of whom has seemingly ruled out ever coming back to The Voice.

When a fan recently asked the Maroon 5 singer if he’d ever consider becoming a Voice coach once again, he answered: “No thank you?”

Grande brings to The Voice an incredible pedigree in mentoring aspiring artists, including two Grammy Awards, five platinum albums and 16 top ten hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Her most recent album Positions hit number-one in both the US and the UK, and the title track also made the top spot on both sides of the Atlantic.
