The Phoenix Suns are ranked 14th on ESPN’s way-too-early NBA power rankings for the 2024-25 season,
just minutes after the Boston Celtics clinched this season’s NBA championship with Monday’s Game 5 win over the Dallas Mavericks.
ESPN’s Dave McMenamin wrote: “Mike Budenholzer replaced Frank Vogel as head coach after the Suns were swept out of the first round by the Timberwolves.
He will try to bring Phoenix’s defense — which finished No. 13 in defensive rating last season — to the stingy standards he had the Bucks performing at last season.
Now the Suns must address their depth after finishing last in bench scoring at just 26.3 points per game from their reserves.”
Led by their Big 3 of Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, the Suns finished the regular season 49-33 to land the sixth seed,
but were the first team eliminated from the playoffs.
