Indiana Fever forward Aliyah Boston didn’t have a great start to the 2024 WNBA season.
After the Fever’s 1-8 start, fans were wondering whether Boston had been working to improve her game in the offseason,
or whether she just couldn’t create chemistry with Caitlin Clark.
And then the 2023 WNBA Rookie of the Year turned things around drastically during the Fever’s current hot streak.
She began looking as dominant as ever, scoring at will in the post and securing rebounds with ease.
As a result of Boston’s performance this past week (including when her Fever played Angel Reese’s Chicago Sky)
Boston won the WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week award.
The Fever’s X account posted a graphic of Boston’s stats over the past week.
She averaged 20 points, 13 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2 blocks per game; all of which was enough to earn her Player of the Week honors.
This award should serve as vindication for Boston, considering all the hate she received from fans after starting the season sluggishly.
Boston and the Fever’s next game is on Wednesday against the Washington Mystics.
