Katie Alexander, Eamonn Holmes’ new partner, says she lost her unborn child due to disputes with Ruth Langsford: ‘I will make her pay for what she did to my baby’

Katie works as a relationship counsellor and her website says that she takes ‘a holistic approach to counselling’.

She offers in-person, telephone and online therapy services, at a price of £45 for a 50-minute session.

The site also states: ‘I work with person-centred modality and take a holistic approach to counselling, focusing on you, the client.

This means that you have the voice and the space to express yourself fully without judgment.

‘My belief is that you, the client, are capable of, and hold the power of achieving what it is that you want out of life.

It is my job to try and help you make sense of what can sometimes be difficult to do alone.’

One anonymous review also praises Kate’s services, saying: ‘Katie made me feel so comfortable throughout the sessions.

Speaking to her with no judgement and her allowing me to look at certain things in a completely different light.

‘My confidence has grown massively and I would highly recommend Katie especially for anyone feeling unsure if therapy is right for them.’

However, Katie also has a fun site, with her personal Instagram bio defiantly states: ‘Kitchen dancer with a soul too glam to give a damn.’

She also has an Instagram account dedicated to her love of photography. The bio reads: ‘Just a photography loving Yorkshire girl taking some pictures!’

Katie is also divorced and a mother to three children.

The pair reportedly met several years ago but have struck up a close friendship over the past couple of years.

They originally got in contact via Twitter after both being involved with a mental health charity.

Katie commented on a post and it sparked a conversation between the pair.

Most recently, Katie has been seen visiting Eamonn at his rented apartment in South West London, after he moved out of his home with Ruth in Surrey, from her home in Yorkshire.

Friends have told MailOnline that she and Eamonn are so close she’s ‘in love’ with him.

The divorcee and mother-of-three has grown close to the star after a ‘string of outings’ together, and has reportedly said she is ‘in it for the long haul.’

A source previously told The Mirror: ‘She is helping Eamonn through the tough times but doesn’t want to be seen as a marriage wrecker.

‘The friendship has grown in recent months but Eamonn’s marriage has been over for some time.’

The publication claims Eamonn has taken her on a safari park trip, to a Manchester United game, a Beyoncé concert and has spoiled her with gifts.

He has also endorsed a charity linked to her work and helped to host a fund-raising event free of charge.

Friends explained that the woman’s counselling skills include coping with ‘feeling sad’ and ‘separation and divorce’ therefore it seems fitting she will be supporting Eamonn at this time of uncertainty.

While his friendship with Katie is not said to be a reason for the marriage breakdown it is understood that Ruth was unaware of her until recently and has decided to take time off work.

A source told The Sun: ‘Ruth was obviously aware that her marriage was crumbling, but as details emerge, her upset has turned to anger.

‘Eamonn’s friend is bowled over by being lavished with attention and kindness from him.’

One pal then told The Mirror: ‘Ruth was hurt when she learned about Eamonn’s friendship with another woman but she is strong and she will be back soon with a smile on her face, putting her best foot forward, as she always does.

‘She needs a bit of time to regroup after everything that’s gone on, which is understandable, but she plans to return to Loose Women, with renewed vigour, in July.’

The friend also insisted that there was ‘no chance whatsoever’ that the pair would ever get back together.

Understanding Deductibles in Insurance

What is a Deductible?

A deductible is the amount of money a policyholder must pay out-of-pocket before an insurance company begins to cover the remaining costs. Deductibles are a fundamental component of most insurance policies, including health, auto, home, and business insurance.

How Do Deductibles Work?

When you file a claim, you are responsible for paying the deductible amount. Only after this amount is paid will the insurance company pay for the covered expenses exceeding the deductible. For example, if you have a $1,000 deductible on your car insurance and incur $3,000 in damages from an accident, you would pay the first $1,000, and the insurance company would cover the remaining $2,000.

Types of Deductibles

  1. Fixed Dollar Deductible: This is a specific amount you must pay each time you file a claim. It’s common in health and auto insurance policies.
  2. Percentage Deductible: In some cases, particularly with homeowners insurance, the deductible might be a percentage of the insured value. For instance, if your home is insured for $200,000 and you have a 2% deductible, your out-of-pocket cost would be $4,000 before insurance covers the rest.
  3. Per-Claim vs. Annual Deductible:
    • Per-Claim Deductible: You pay the deductible every time you file a claim.
    • Annual Deductible: Common in health insurance, this deductible resets each year. You pay out-of-pocket until your total expenses reach the deductible amount for the year.

Why Do Deductibles Exist?

  1. Cost Control: Deductibles help keep insurance premiums more affordable. Higher deductibles typically result in lower premiums because the policyholder assumes more initial risk.
  2. Reduced Claims Frequency: Deductibles discourage policyholders from filing small or frivolous claims, reducing the number of claims an insurer must process and pay out.
  3. Shared Responsibility: Deductibles ensure that policyholders share in the financial responsibility of their care or damages, promoting cautious behavior and maintenance of insured assets.

Choosing the Right Deductible

When selecting an insurance policy, choosing the right deductible is crucial. Here are some considerations:

  1. Financial Ability: Assess your ability to pay the deductible in case of a claim. A higher deductible can lower your premium but may be challenging to pay if an incident occurs.
  2. Risk Tolerance: Determine how much risk you are comfortable assuming. If you prefer lower out-of-pocket costs during an emergency, a lower deductible might be preferable, albeit with a higher premium.
  3. Frequency of Claims: Consider how often you might need to file a claim. If you anticipate frequent claims, a lower deductible might be more cost-effective over time.

Impact on Premiums

The relationship between deductibles and premiums is inverse. Generally, the higher the deductible, the lower the premium, and vice versa. This trade-off allows policyholders to customize their insurance based on their financial situation and risk appetite.

Conclusion

Deductibles are a key feature of insurance policies that influence both the cost of premiums and the financial burden on policyholders when filing claims. Understanding how deductibles work and carefully selecting an appropriate deductible can help balance cost savings with financial protection, ensuring optimal insurance coverage tailored to individual needs and circumstances.
