Jennifer Lawrence is setting the record straight about changes to her appearance: It’s makeup magic. And time.

In a conversation with Kylie Jenner, the ultimate makeup chameleon, Lawrence explained that it’s her makeup artist who contours her “new” features. 

“I also think it’s incredible what makeup can do because I work with Hung [Vanngo], who overlines the lip, 

and I call him a plastic surgeon, because everybody in the last few months since I’ve been working with him is convinced that I had eye surgery,” 

she told Jenner for Interview magazine, adding, “I’m like, ‘I didn’t have eye surgery. I’m doing makeup.’”

Jenner has admitted to having lip fillers as well as getting a breast augmentation at 19 years old. 

So she knows what it looks like when someone’s had a little something done. And obviously, she knows the power of makeup. After Lawrence joked about the rumors that “apparently I’ve had full plastic surgery,” Jenner reassured her that “it doesn’t look like that,” and they bonded over having before-and-after comparisons that are really just the result of years in the spotlight.

Said the Oscar winner, “I started [acting] at 19, so I get the before and after pictures from when I’m 19 to 30, and I’m like, ‘I grew up. I lost baby weight in my face, and my face changed because I’m aging.’ Everybody thought I had a nose job, and I’m like, ‘I’ve had the exact same nose. My cheeks got smaller. Thank you for bringing it up.’”

In the same conversation, Jennifer Lawrence mused, “I feel sorry for men. They’re kind of stuck with what they have,” which isn’t always true (men can wear makeup, and beards contour the face wonderfully), but we get her point. We simply have so many beauty looks to choose from!
