The singer has been a coach on the NBC competition show for seven non-consecutive seasons and is returning for her eighth.
She will coach alongside Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg, and Michael Buble for Season 26.
However, Gwen will not return for Season 27, as Michael, Kelsea Ballerini, John Legend, and Adam Levine will take over the chairs.
A source exclusively explained to The U.S. Sun that Gwen, 54, is taking home $13 million on the upcoming season of The Voice.
Insiders claim No Doubt was planning to head out on the road after their Coachella Festival double weekend critically acclaimed headlining show.
They were offered gigs across the country after their comeback sparked huge fan interest.
No Doubt has not toured in 12 years, but the plan fell through, which led Gwen to return to The Voice.
The source also revealed that Gwen felt like she “didn’t need the band” because she “lands many solo gigs playing their old hits alone.”
“She gets private bookings all the time to do solo gigs and of course she plays those songs. It is a business decision really. ‘Go to work and take in all the cash on your own or split it several ways?’” the source said.
“No Doubt’s triumphant Coachella performances was discussed as a relaunching pad for the band,” a source claimed.
“They worked so hard for months to deliver the perfect show and return the magic to the audience.”
“The desire initially was Gwen and the band to use that platform to keep playing beyond Coachella on a tour, but the plan fell apart,” the insider continued.
“But there was talk of tensions between members and managers around going back out and trying to work around everyone’s schedules.”
The insider went on to claim Gwen had the biggest offer to return to NBC, so she decided to go her separate ways and return to TV.
However, what she would earn with No Doubt on two months of a tour would be the same amount that she is earning from The Voice.
A rep for Gwen has not responded to The U.S. Sun’s request for comment.
A rep for NBC declined to comment regarding the salary.
Despite Gwen taking a few seasons off, she was still a mentor for many past contestants.
Former contestant Jay Allen spoke about Gwen at the Keep Memory Alive 27th annual Power of Love gala in Las Vegas.
He said she and her husband, Blake Shelton, are good human beings.
They advised him on career choices and supported his fundraising work.
Jay said their “care and kindness are real.”
Season 3 winner Cassadee Pope said Gwen and Blake, 48, are both “awesome and so genuine.”
“I appreciate their authenticity,” she said.
“I learned how to decide when you want to share things and when you don’t.”
“They have taken their power back. That is protecting their relationship in a way,” Cassadee ended.
Gwen will return on Season 26 of The Voice this fall.
