Relying solely on royal allowances, what potential harm could Harry and Meghan cause if they inherit everything?

A royal author has revealed how Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could become indispensable to the Royal Family,

but it involves them putting their “slights and resentments behind them”.

The Duke of Sussex will likely return to the UK next month to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games at St. Paul’s Cathedral,

providing an opportunity for reconciliation and to “take up some of the slack,” says royal author Christopher Andersen.

So far, it remains unclear whether the Duchess of Sussex and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, will be joining him on the trip,

but Andersen argued the couple could both make themselves useful in the UK.

He claimed Harry would be open to working as a part-time royal, after departing from his duties in 2020, which would help alleviate the other royals.

Andersen said: “In fact, he’s eager to return to London and help take up some of the slack now that the medical issues of the King and the Princess of Wales have thrown the monarchy into a state of crisis.”

Though the author claimed it would be in King Charles’ best interests to give both Harry and Meghan part-time royal roles, he believes this would require reconciliation and getting over “slights and resentments”.

Andersen added: “If they could all put these perceived slights and resentments behind them, Harry and Meghan could be hugely valuable assets to the monarchy at a time when it could use all the help it can get.”

Despite Harry’s return potentially turning him into a “hugely valuable asset”, it could also exacerbate existing tensions with his brother, Prince William, who is currently privately dealing with Princess Kate’s cancer diagnosis.

Andersen said the Duke of Sussex comes with “baggage” that Prince William does not “have the bandwidth” to deal with.

He added: “Keep in mind that the Prince of Wales is saddled with the enormous responsibility of holding both his family and the monarchy together while his wife and father cope with their serious medical issues.

“Having the ‘spare’ back in the royal fold would simply be an enormous distraction, despite his good intentions.”

Prince Harry previously visited the UK in February for a 45-minute visit with his father, King Charles, upon hearing of his cancer diagnosis. According to Andersen, the Duke wanted to be reunited with his brother, but Prince William refused.
